Spell Absorbtion

Hello,
Are there any items in the game, other than protection pots, that absorb spell damage? I recently dueled a hunter and i got one absorb message on my priest. He claimed he didn't use any potions and then logged off right after. I missed the chance to ask what item he used.

Isn't there a player crafted chest that you can use to absorb damage as well? Some dragonscale stuff if memory serves.
