so summer is upon us, and i think i'm taking a vacation to pennsylvania with my roommates to go see some family members of theirs, and i'd really like to be in tip-top bikini form by then.... MEANING i have about fifteen or so vanity pounds i'd like to melt off.

mop, what are some suggestions you'd have for taking off that amount in about two and a half months? and is that feasibly possible? because i don't wanna hurt my body or anything, i just wanna be hawt for vacations. ^_^

ya that is plenty of time, the first major thing I would suggest is 25 min of cardio a day in the form of HIIT ( High intensity interval Training)

THis is farily easy to do and requires nothing but space, if you have a jumprope or steps that works well too. It is an excellent thing to do 3- 4 times a week.

2 min walking warm up just so you dont hurt yourself ( for serious)
for the next 20 min you basically go all out for 30 seconds ( run, jumprope run up steps anything HARD) then recover for 30 seconds - the last 3 min are cool down for your muscles.

Exercises I would suggest a couple times a week would be a basic work out using your body weight as resistant. If you can do them back to back in succesion 2 or 3 times after the HIIT cardio it works best

Squats, Lunges, push ups, Dips ( find a chair or step) , crunches, leg raises

thx muchly sir. any dieting suggestions? i was doing the low-carb thing for quite some time but i think eventually i just went nuts because A) it made me miserable and 2) i don't think i had enough fuel in my body for good exercise. is that a possibility?

i've been eating quite healthily for some time now (not too many calories, few if any sweets, not a lot of snacking) but sometimes i slip and go out to the bars and grab a taco from the drive-thru when we leave the bars and i dunno, that probly can't be good.

i've taken up power walking three miles a day at the park that my mom lives by but the weather hasn't been permitting it lately and i'm trying to develop an alternative for bad weather. a flight of stairs will remedy that? i don't think i have a jump rope (i'm also not very coordinated hehe) but i can try to find one i spose. also, what do you think of bike riding?

i really like all this fitness crap but when the weather is poopy it really ruins my fun. ;/

eat 6 small meals a day, 3-4 hours apart
water and not soda/pop/coke/ect
try and get a fruit or veggie in every meal

Eating the 6 smaller meals a day makes a huge difference. I know it's hard to get used to, but is well worth it. One thing I did to help me get back on track with eating more often is I bought some meal replacement drinks. I didn't buy them for the purpose of losing weight, but to make sure my body is getting what it needs. I usually only have one in the morning if I'm too busy for breakfast, and maybe if I'm busy in the afternoon and I've noticed it's been awile since I've had anything to eat.

If you have a real busy schedule like me, try and give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning or the night before to get your meals and snacks together for the day. It really will make a difference. Think of it this way, if your not eating enough, your body goes into a starvation mode and won't use you calories up, self preservation if you will. The more you eat, the more it will burn up. Just make sure to eat the right stuff though.

Stacy recommended Fitday.com. A great website you can track on. Worth a look see. Good luck Leah!
