leah, please dont be STRICK about health food on your kids PLEASE.
I worked at a day care in the 2 year old room. There was a girl who we were told was on a STRICT diet. No milk (only the milk she provides) no sugar, no fried.
While in theory, this looks good, it really isnt. We were, under no surcomstances aloud to give her a cookie at a child's birthday party or at a Valentines party or during Easter. It was AWFUL because she knew what the other kids were eating was good and she would sit there and stare at the other kids while we gave her a banana or avacado.
She also overfed her (she packed her lunches, since we had chicken nuggets on the menu, so that meant we werent serving healthy lunches). She packed some shit for lunch, then we had to give her a snack, then a snack when the kids had snack, then something else before she picked her up at 5, then SHE fed her at the day care in the parking lot. She says it is because a book says that she is under where she should be, in weight. I told her, she is under in weight because she is under in height. Told her, by the way she was going, she was going to be overweight instead of a healthy weight. I also told her that one cookie once a month will not kill her and told her what she was doing during parties. She listened. I felt good.

Stacy, make me purdy with them thar samples!! PM inc

I usually drink a Carnation shake for b-fast. Has a huge shot of vit's and min's. That with a small bagel, or a bowl of oatmeal is enough for me.

and also-- don't worry darcler i won't be a nazi about it, but my kids will appreciate stuff like cookies as special-occasion snacks, i.e. the birthday example. snacks at my house will be fruit or even fruit snacks made with real fruit juice and all that rot. i'm just sayin... it won't be that processed. over-sugared crap. i know what it's like to be the fat kid and there is no way in hell i will let my kids go through that.

You are stuck in a horrible cycle. You need to get up and out of bed to fix things so that you can have the energy to do it. If you dont force yourself to start you never will be able to.

i know what it's like to be the fat kid and there is no way in hell i will let my kids go through that.

a-freakin-men - my dad, the fast food king, now has self-induced diabetes.. every day after softball practice, the tough decision of taco bell, burger king, kfc, wendy's, mcdonald's, or pizza weighed heavily on his mind.. I was raised on fast food, and now it's so hard to break away from it. For lunch, I do my damnedest to run away from fast food and do places like subway (sweet onion chicken teryaki, mmm) or quiznos (hi honey bourbon chicken) schlotzky's (chicken breast! ya! noticing a pattern here?) or chocolate factory (chicken breast sub) baked lays, and water or apple juice - all of the above I eat at least once a week because I can't seem to break my fast food habit, but I can at least choose healthier fast food. It's tough to get away from after years of knowing nothing but that.. that's why for dinner I at least get off my duff and cook dinner so I *know* what's going in it.. my kids will get packed lunches and on a rare occasion be able to buy the school lunch - by middle/high school, they'll have the taste and option for a better decision when they buy school lunches is what I'd hope.. unlike myself, and I now have an absolute addiction to frozen pizza ><

I wish my dad would've been a little more stern with meals when I was younger when I didn't have a choice - it would be so much easier to make healthy choices now I think.

In my family, we had sit down dinners about 3 times a year, Chrismas, Thanksgiving and Easter. The rest of the time it was fast food or TV dinners. If it wasn't for me being a member of every team under the sun or my metabolism I would be in really bad shape.

It is so hard to break habbits like that when you have been doing ti for so many years. It took me starting kungfu to actually change my eating habbits to an extent. I still dont eat well, but I eat beter then I use to. I am determined to start eating beter though.

Kizzy, you seem to be in a similar situation, you body is stuck in a rut. Then only way to get out of it is to force yourself to do it. Its not easy and you will be tired for a while but your body will adjust to it.

Considering the amount of human parts now being found in fast food - one would have to be very brave to venture into their nearest McDump for something quick.

nothing can change unless you FORCE it to change. you didn't get to whatever point you're at overnight, and you can't fix it overnight. it takes a ridiculous amount of hard work.

Force yourself to wake up in the morning and eat a bowl of Grapenuts or something (I love Grapenuts). That will giev you the kick to stay awake. Sooner or later, your body will wake up easier.
Aside from crack, there is no quick fix to being tired all the time.

It's been proven if you have something to look forward to when you wake up it's ridiculously easy.

Try to find ways to motivate yourself to get up.
