Hanoi Jane's comeback tour

Postby Jimmy Durante » Mon Jul 25, 2005 4:02 pm

SANTA FE, N.M. - Actress and activist Jane Fonda says she intends to take a cross-country bus tour to call for an end to U.S. military operations in
Iraq.

"I can't go into any detail except to say that it's going to be pretty exciting," she said.

Fonda said her anti-war tour in March will use a bus that runs on "vegetable oil." She will be joined by families of Iraq war veterans and her daughter.

They plan to return to the Santa Fe area, where she was promoting her book, "My Life So Far" on Saturday.

Prompted by a question from the audience, Fonda said war veterans that she has met on a nationwide book tour have encouraged her to break her silence on the Iraq war.

"I've decided I'm coming out," she said.

Hundreds of people in the audience cheered loudly when Fonda announced her intentions to join the anti-Iraq war movement.

"I have not taken a stand on any war since Vietnam," she said. "I carry a lot of baggage from that."

Fonda incited controversy in July 1972 when she was photographed sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun while on a tour of the country to drum up support to end the war.

Sure. Let's start with Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, and Michael Moore. Let them hate the U.S. from Canada or somewhere else.

They're mostly your peeps, Ganzo. Are you sure Israel would take them?

Celebs really are annoying, and whats even worse is that people will follow them because they are celebs.

Hell I was against going into Iraq and even I wouldn't support just pulling out.

I can verify that Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, and Michael Moore are farther from my people than Mindia is

Can we hand them a rifle and a pair of US Army fatigues and deport them to Fallujah? I would be interested to see how long their hollywood communist agenda lasts.

Alec Baldwin is actually really smart.

The problem with these celebrities isnt that thye talk about this stuff, it's that people care when they do.

Is it me or is anyone else seeing no common ground between Jane Fonda & Michael moore? Theres a HUGEEEEEEEEE difference between the two. First off Michael Moore is not guilty of treason; he simply has conflicting beliefs. The same scenario with Sean Penn.

Jane Fonda confided WITH the VC and sapper teams and there is photographic evidence. Given that this happened during a time of war she could be punished by up to death I do believe(correct me if I'm wrong). If thats the case I really wish we would.

Statutes of limitations should have no meaning for the morale support she gave to those that would kill American Soldiers and in fact make many gold star mothers that had to bare watching her the past 35 years(I do believe she committed her crimes in 1967-69). Morale wins wars and kills more people than the actual people shooting the guns; Veitnam was an outstanding example of this.

If you give the enemy morale, you give the enemy a weapon. Jane Fonda gave the enemy morale and therefore is guilty. We could only hope that the law would in fact do it's part on this filthy piece of trash in Hollywood or whichever rich guy she recently banged her way to the top with.

Let us not judge someones opinions to harshly unless they act upon them(michael moore and other famous celebrities have not but jane fonda has); thats the way american law was setup.

I'm not for the Iraq war myself; however, treason is something that we must always deal harshly and swiftly with. Thirty-five years is way to long for justice to be served.
