House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego)(Illinois) wants his legislature to declare the '85 Bears the "all time best team in NFL history."
The resolution, which would do little but give Bears fans bragging rights, even calls for the Legislature to salute the team with the singing of the official fight song.
Wow. So crime rate in Illinois must be down since they have all this free time between giving themselves raises and taking 3 months off.
Ok so maybe a little state pandering is no big deal. But the federal Congress, after their ridiculous waste of time and taxpayer money over steroids in baseball, now wants to "look into the deeply flawed BCS system?"

HOUSTON -- Calling the Bowl Championship Series "deeply flawed," the chairman of a congressional committee has called a hearing on the controversial system used to determine college football's national champion.
A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, charged with regulating America's sports industry, announced Friday it will conduct a hearing on the BCS next week, after this season's bowl matchups are determined.
After they just had a hearing?
September 2003: Congress held hearings on the fairness of college football's Bowl Championship Series after critics claimed the BCS system favored schools from six conferences and Notre Dame. Ultimately, the BCS added a fifth game, which will be played starting after the 2006 season.
For 20+ years they kept to you know, running the country. There was one involvment in 1972, and the next wasn't until 1989. And those two rulings actually had some importance, one being Title IX, the other having to do with federal funding. But from 1993 to now, 10 fucking times they've felt the need to inderdict into sports.
