Mindia & Rudy

Postby Lionking » Wed Dec 06, 2006 11:58 am

Mindia, this is taken from the Rudy Wiki:

Giuliani is a Roman Catholic who is pro-choice, favors same-sex civil unions, gun control, and embryonic stem-cell research. Pro-life groups, such as the Republican National Coalition for Life, have already announced their intention to oppose Giuliani or any other pro-choice candidate,[43] though evidence suggests that even among these voters, he enjoys some support.

1. You hate Catholics
2. You are Pro-Life
3. You are against same-sex civil unions
4. I - believe - you are against gun control
5. You are against embryo stem-cell research

Yet this is your choice for 2008? How do you justify the hypocrisy?

Actually, to be fair to Mindia, he has actually said he's in favor of gay civil unions, as I recall, or at least not rabidly opposed to them. What he's adamantly opposed to is calling such a union Marriage.

I don't understand why people vote based on party, instead of individuals who are running

Guiliani will likely run under a Republican ticket, however in quite a few areas his stances are not that of the Republican platform... so in essence people would be voting for the cantidate and not the party.

I dont vote based on their party affiliation at all. I look at the issues, and their stances. I could care less if they are republican, democrat or indipendant. Recently i have not seen a Republican that i agreed with their agenda, Guillini i think would change that.

my guess is that he means he would rather have a more traditional republican, but despite rudy's untraditional stances he would still be a good candidate.
