That is the tricky part when it comes to the mind. you're never in anyone's head and so you never have any idea what they are really experiencing.

my personal issue with diagnosis of most mental patients is that they rely on another person to determine what the person has for a condition. the person is educated and experienced however, they are not in the mind of that person. enlightenment goes both ways. it goes in the good direction and in the bad direction. when a person actually has lost the control of their own mind and are no longer able to make decisions, is a fine line and how well can we really know this?

to delve into the darker issues of the mind you have to go there also, mentally. that is why everyone who works at rehab used to be in there.

How about this guy?

(AP) Authorities are searching for an Indiana man they say stabbed his 11-month-old son in the back, threw the boy out the car window with the kitchen knife stuck in his back and then drove away.

"He was conscious, but the knife was buried all the way to the handle," said Speedway Detective Jim Thiele. The boy, Devon Chandler, was in stable condition at a hospital Thursday.

"To the amazement of the doctors and everyone else involved, (the knife) somehow managed to just miss the vital organs," Thiele said.

Police say another child, a 5-year-old boy, was in the car when the toddler was thrown out and managed to get out of the vehicle before Chandler drove off.

Police have enlisted the FBI's help in locating the father, 30-year-old Kevin Chandler, who was charged with attempted murder.

Police think 30-year-old Chandler and the boy's mother, Angela Limbrock, were arguing as they prepared to leave Limbrock's apartment on the west side of Indianapolis Wednesday night.

Police believe Limbrock handed Devon to Chandler so she could retrieve his car seat inside the home. As she left the car, she heard Chandler swear at the boy and turned around to see him throw Devon out of the car window, according to a police report. When Limbrock picked up her son, she saw a knife in his back, the report said.

Police say she ran back to the home, where residents called for an ambulance.

"We're still trying to determine motive here, but at this point I have no reason to believe he did this to get back at the mother or anything," said Thiele.

Chandler has been arrested several times for crimes including domestic battery, auto theft and driving while intoxicated, records show. He served time in an Indiana prison for cocaine possession and carrying an unlicensed firearm near school property, records show.

In 2005, police arrested Chandler after he allegedly kicked Limbrock in the head and body.

How about this Christian guy?

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. -- Police said a motorist beat a former Soviet political prisoner to death with a rock Thursday at a New Jersey highway rest stop after the victim declined to buy his religious CDs.

Brian White of Humble, Texas, was arrested after a 90-mile chase and charged with murder, eluding police and weapons violations.

The victim's secretary said 75-year-old Michail Makarenko of Hillsboro, Va., spent 11 years in prison for anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda. He owned an art gallery, exhibiting works of banned artists.

State police said White "possibly is delusional." He wrote on his MySpace page that his latest recording would one day become part of the "next century Bible."

White's mother is shocked by his arrest. She said, "He's a Christian guy. He made lots of Christian CDs."

I don't like my dog much. BUT, If my dog ever died under these circumstances, I'd likely lose my mind.

Update on this story:

MINNEAPOLIS - A man suspected of cutting the head off a teenage girl’s dog and leaving it at her front door in a gift-wrapped box was in jail Friday on suspicion of terrorist threats.

The 24-year-old man, who was not immediately charged, used to date Crystal Brown, the girl’s grandmother said. Crystal, 17, immediately told police she suspected him because he expressed jealousy after she ended a relationship with him and dated someone else, her grandmother Shirley Brown said.

“I think I can sleep a lot better now,” said Crystal, who found Valentine’s Day candy and a garbage bag containing her pet’s head in the box. “It will make me feel way safer. Now we can walk around the whole block.”

Police said the man lived a few blocks from the home Crystal shares with her grandmother.

“He was a neighbor. He ate at my table. I’ve given him rides to work,” Shirley Brown said. “I befriended this kid.”

Crystal was devastated last month when Chevy, her 4-year-old Australian shepherd mix, went missing. Two weeks later, the gift box addressed to Crystal was found at her front door.

Janet Hafner, a spokeswoman for the Ramsey County attorney’s office, said the man may be charged Friday. If so, he would make his first court appearance later in the day.

Crystal has a new puppy, named Diesel. Her grandmother said they are bonding after just a few short weeks.

“That dog’s only 10 weeks old, and she’s already got him sitting up and shaking hands,” Shirley Brown said. “That’s just Crystal — she’s always loved animals.”

The case drew widespread media attention. The television show “America’s Most Wanted” posted the case on its Web site, and donations pushed a $2,500 reward offered by the Humane Society of the United States to $20,000.

Dale Bartlett, the Humane Society’s deputy manager for animal cruelty issues, said it’s the most generous response the organization has ever seen to an award. He said the Browns could themselves be eligible for the award, since they apparently led police to the suspect.

“After what they’ve been through, I can’t think of anyone I would rather see the award go to,” Bartlett said. He said that determination will be made after a conviction in the case, with input from investigators who worked on the case.
