Non-USA related but.....

I buy 5 gallon bottles x5 every two weeks at $3 a bottle. It's distilled. It's the norm to drink bottled water here as the tap water isn't as safe as the USA. Compared to other Asian contries the tap water here isn't so bad though, and at times I have drank it with no problems.

QFT.

in simplest terms...

Water from a bottle doesnt contain the chlorine and other mineral / chemicals that tap water does. When you pour tap water into it - those chem / minerals that were lacking before now leach out chemicals from the plastic into your water.

Britta and a re -useable water bottle >>* by far.

If I do find myself buying bottled water IE at work and dont have my bottle with me and I decide im going on a run through the mountains I just buy a 50 cent gallon ftw

I drink Crystal Geyser mountain spring water, and I love it. Besides, you can smell chlorine in tap water after you've been drinking bottled water for years.

We are like Ginz I guess. We only buy bottles for on the go. We have a Britta or Pur or whatever attached to our fridge water spout. Bottles if we have to go somewhere and we just toss them out. My in laws keep too much junk around as it is, I dont want to add plastic bottles to their junk piles.

I like the Talking Rain flavored water from Costco.. it doesn't really taste flavored but it's scented.. tricky tricky.
