Overall, a tragic case, but I was interested to hear opinions of others on the outcome.

I fully believe that White never intended to kill the kid and that the actions he took were extreme, and his first line of rational thought should've been to call the cops- but trying to put myself in his shoes, thinking if it was my kid and there were 2 cars full of kids threatening my own, I think rational thought might go out the window.

I think the father of Cicciaro is absolutely over the top and turning this into a race case more than it ever should've been, and he's ridiculously stupid to believe that a man gets off BECAUSE he's black - it's generally quite the opposite. I think Ciccriaro definitely has some deep seated racist issues, and to say something like 'lets see what happens when Aaron White gets shot' is such a blatant threat that I don't know how anyone could interpret it as anything but that. I also don't see what screaming FUCK YOU to the mother and kid is doing for him. I know he's hurting, but he's turned this issue into something that is way beyond mourning his son.

We're not talking about a low income gangbanging welfare drug money toting group here - we're talking about a suburban middle to upper class hard working family living in a new subdivision who just happen to be black, and race has nothing to do with it.

You send 2 cars full of kids to my house threatening to kill my son, you bet your ass I'll try to defend my family. It's unfortunate how events panned out, especially considering the issue that started it all wasn't even real.. but White clearly (to me) never intended to hurt anyone, nor was he the aggressor.

If Ciccario's father is any representation of how the son behaved, I would've been ready with self defense too. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't over and someone went after Aaron White in retaliation.

This is just one of those cases that really gets to me - it's hard not to mourn for the loss of the family, but it's even harder to sympathize with them as victims with how clearly hateful and close minded as they are. Both families are victims somewhere along the line in this case.
