levels of patriotism in the news

Postby Tikker » Mon Apr 14, 2008 11:07 am

this was an article that I found kind of interesting. In general, I think most people would agree that the USA is normally among the first countries thought of when you think about flag wavers. I'm sure that most people are fairly proud/patriotic of their own respective countries, but not as outwardly as Americans (and I mean this in a good way towards the patriotism shown by americans)

I was a little surprised today to read an article comparing Canada and Britain, with the chief complaint being that brits need to be more patriotic, like the Canadians. I didn't really think that many outsiders viewed us as flag wavers.

That's awesome Tikker, you guys have a lot to be proud of in how you honor your fallen soldiers.

that's quite touching. amazing show of respect for the fallen.

but all that aside, i think the majority of the canadians ive met over the years are certain to make people aware of their nationality. i just assumed it was to make sure nobody had mistaken them for being american :D

Our Canadian board members do not reflect the overall attitude and sentiment of Canada just like the US board members are not typically "American".
