at the risk of my fellow supporters throwing tomatoes at my face, I wasn't really in awe of it like a lot of people were - but I wasn't the target audience, either.

I mean it was well produced, got the message across and what have you, got the inspiration memo out there, but it was a little *too* infomercially for me. I would've liked if he had focused on some more definitive points of his stance (IE, this is how much money I want to spend here, and this is how I want to spend it. this is when I'd like to have our troops out by and how I plan to do it safely, yadda yadda) rather than take the inspirational route, because I honestly think people "get" that by now.

Again though, I'm really familiar with his platform and have heard the basics over and over again because when he advertises, he targets people who aren't familiar with it. so it probably missed the mark with me because I wasn't the target. he was going for undecideds, which I definitely am not.

It was good, but not great.

I think at this point in time it's really futile for either side to be spending money on productions like this. I am not slamming either side, I am just saying that as of now the Obama supporters are going to vote Obama, the McCain of course will vote for McCain and any undecided left (which I can't see how they would be very many) are going to randomly pick at the last minute.

The message has gotten skewed on this 250 to 200 thing based on people twisting it, as always happens in politics. His message has been consistent. He always said those making *over* 250k will see increases. All he said about 200k is that those making under it will save money under his plan. Logically, that means those between 200 and 250 means it remains the same.

150k was Biden, and he's known for stumbling or not getting his message across very well. He's not a great speaker. The platform hasn't changed at all; all that's changed is the way people interpret the words or take them out of context for the sake of exciting press. To quote the actual platform, all they've ever said was "those making under 250 a year will not see their taxes increase one cent, and if you're a family making under 200, you'll see a tax cut." Nothing about tax breaks for everyone making under 250 at all.

I think this is precisely why the production was a good move on the campaign's part - most of them are, indeed, going to pick at the last minute - his goal was to be the one who was fresh in their brains. It's psychology and marketing strategy, and not a bad move. He has the excess funds, why not? Most are decided by now, the ones that aren't haven't bothered to learn anything about either platform. The best way to snag those votes is to put yourself in their faces as often as possible, and to do it with a positive message certainly doesn't hurt.

the current economic status is tragic and even the RICH are in debt. in order to turn this country around, I believe there *has* to be a (small) amount of socialism. perhaps, and I don't know if it'd work, but providing the poor with opportunities and even saying, "hey, we will give you this job, this opportunity, but if you screw up, you're on your own."

this country should be like a parent...like a role model. "here, we will raise you to be like us, we will help you along the way, but we won't support you forever and when you're down, we'll help out, but you have to help yourself also."
