Couple problems with that suggestion.
1) I will NOT go that close to a bug to be able to smoosh it with a shoe.
2) We dont get snow here, so no snow boots. This was before Gid went Army, so we didnt have the boots from that. Only tennis shoes and flip flops in my house.
3) We dont have coffee table books. Coffee table books imply a decoration for the coffee table. We have small children who get large thrills out of tearing book pages.
a) I wouldnt fuck up a book with bug guts, and because of the size, there would have been a LOT of guts.
b) I still would have had to get close to said bug without the buffer of a 2 or 3 foot pole.

Leaving was the better option.

Dude a flipflop is like the nuclear bomb of spider killing. If you got a flipflop go to town and you will come out ok.

Heh, and said bug would hurt you, HOW exactly?

I don't recommend ever going to Hawaii, then, were I you. Forest roaches there (which still get into houses, but aren't filth-hunters like US cockroaches) get up to 3" long, and are pretty much everywhere.

It will hurt you by being yucky and giving you a case of the willies that takes years to be rid of. 3 inch roaches sound really scary to me

Pretty much that. I took a shower after a bee smacked into my head and flew off. I dont do bugs well.

Oh and to continue the story...
When Gid went home from work (he was working overnight shift) I told him to find it and kill it. I wanted PROOF it was gone. Well it just so happened that I sprayed a shitload of Windex in the bathroom to kill some ants (shitty apartment) and the bug found its way in there. Died while I was gone. Gid said it was just a big waterbug. :puke:
I never got my proof, like a huge twitchy body. He said he flushed it because it was gross to leave it. To this day I wonder if he lied to me. I never really slept well in that apartment after that. Oh, I also refuse to watch Nightmare Before Christmas. I tried another time to watch it, I found a small bug in the room during. I've determined that the movie is just a bug summoner. I'll pass and be the only person in the world who has never seen that movie.
