2) you must have enough money to create your party

The CIA is a civilian national security agency. The FBI is a civilian national security agency. The NSA is a civilian national security agency. Hell, the TSA is a civilian agency related to national security. Police departments aren't part of the military, yet have a national security role. Fire departments, same thing.

So, are you honestly saying that we shouldn't have a capable CIA, FBI, NSA, and local police & fire departments? Does making them more effective, within the limits of civil liberties, mean he's making a paramilitary force somehow? If you REALLY think that, it's time to go for your Tinfoil Hat fitting.

As for coal, we NEED to start transitioning away from using it without clean coal technology. The more unfettered use there is, the worse our environment gets, ultimately hitting a point where the damage screws up our economy itself. Just look at how badly china is snowballing because of their use of coal. Hell, it was awful 15 years ago when a friend of mine was there teaching English in Chongqing. Even back then, the water was so polluted you could only drink it once it had been filtered AND boiled, and the air was so polluted people who'd lived there for years constantly hacked up black phlegm all day because of the coal dust that had settled in their lungs.

Besides, just because something is how we used to do it doesn't mean there's not a better way. Look at the fight going on right now in West Virginia. One of the coal mining companies wants to slice off the top of a mountain and filter out all the coal, which apparently is a common practice, despite how badly it screws up the local area, etc. But people are fighting it, noting that putting a wind farm on top of that same mountain would generate more energy than all of the coal buried in it. What sense then blowing up mountains, when we can get more and cleaner energy from alternate techniques?
