It’s not the religion that is violent. The people who believe that it’s their duty to their god(s) to ensure that all people believe the same make it violent. There are many deeply religious people who are true to their religion and are the nicest most giving people around. Everyone has probably run into that person who would give you the shirt off their back suffer just to make things a little easier on you. IMO these are the people that best represent their faith. Unfortunately, there seem to be many more of the misguided that see their faith as the right to force others to live how they believe people should live.

Perfect examples of this are gay marriage and evolution. Rather then letting parents and your religious leaders teach your religions view on these subjects, a movement has been made to push these views on everyone. Whether it is by editing school text books or attempting to amend the constitution; things like these do not affect the lives of these people. If you truly have faith, you will live based on that faith, while those who do not believe in your faith are free to live their lives as they will. If a school wants to teach the best scientific explanation of how life began on this world, who are you to stop them? How does it hurt you? Should science be able to force that equal time be given to evolution in church? If two men or two women wish to live their lives together and their religion allows for them to do so in marriage, who are you to say they can’t? No one is forcing your church under your religion to allow this.

Ironically, the crusades for the holy land are still ongoing.. Just not involving Christianity.. Just Judaism and Islam.

If you consider the war in Iraq based mostly on Middle Eastern peace with tie ins to Israel, you can actually allude it is a modern day crusade.

I really think W should throw his hat into the whole "Israel belongs to us" thing.

It would really spice things up.

OK, Markarado, how about the White Supremecists? They're active RIGHT NOW, and they preach that lynching and killing black people is prefectly consistent with christian principles. They claim to be Christian, they believe in Christ as their lord and savior, read the bible, etc. Their brand of Christianity sure as hell isn't a religion of peace. Shall we judge all of Christianity by their actions?

Well?

If not, why then would you judge all of Islam by the actions of the extremist few?

The difference between Christianity and Islam being that you don't find that being supported.

Have we forgotten already that the Koran basically demands the deaths of unbelievers? (and if we go as far to define a Jihad, it excludes civilian men, women, and children...not that those fucks listen to their own religion)

They listen to their own religion as it's preached to them by their priests. Kinda like the KKK christians.

It's not the religion, it's the people who use the religion as a pulpet to preach their own hate.

And as backwards as most muslim countries are, how do they know any better than to believe what they're told?

Christians in a developed country can't even claim illiteracy to excuse hateful beliefs.

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Exodus 22:20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

To translate into modern english: Kill all pagans and anyone else who worships any god other than the Judeo/Christian one.

That's just 2 quick examples, want me to find more?

Now, lets see if Jesus disapproved of such old testament laws:
Mathew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Nope, doesn't look like it.

Hell, if you want to look, you can find where Jesus was cursing the Pharisees (who merely suggested he should wash his hands before eating) because they weren't slaughtering any kids who talked back to their parents. (Mathew 15:4-7 is one occurance of it)

Oh yes, nothing but peace and light in the bible, even the new testament. And we haven't even TOUCHED Revelation...

There's a LOT of thoroughbred Jews who have blonde hair and blue eyes and are light-complected.

Anyway, I think Israel should blow the hell out of the Dome of the Rock so they can get the rebuilding of the Temple underway, and I would hope and pray that the United Stated would lend a hand in that. God damn those Muslims to hell.

If that is the event that triggers the second coming of Christ... then yes, I'm all for it. The world is a mess right now and has been for ages. There's too much evil and corruption, and the bulk of that evil comes from the middle east. If they had the bombs set in place around the Dome of the Rock, and they needed a volunteer to light the fuse... I would be on the next plane to Israel. I'd like to be on the sidelines of Armegeddon with some popcorn when it all goes down anyway.
