What is prostitution anyways? It's a consentual agreement between two adults to trade sex or companionship for money. It's easy to say you'd never stoop so low because you are young, have a job and have no kids. Some people do what they have to do to survive and other people do what they have to do to not be lonely. Some people don't have a choice but to make an arrangement of sorts if they want some kind of companionship. Would the ugly, asshole lawyer have an easy time finding a companion if he wasn't rich? Not likely. Why should he not use the one thing he does have that can attract a mate?

I understand your position Gyps but I do think it's naive. A majority of marriages are not based on mutual love or even if they start out that way, they may not end up that way somewhere down the line. It's just a fact of life and as much as Anna Nicole made my skin crawl, I really can't look down my nose at her for doing what she did as I don't see it as being much different than other marriages and the mutual agreements that two adults make.

You think it's naive because you assume that I've never been in a horrible financial situation and I've always been comfortable. Jay can vouch for me otherwise as he's been around when I've felt there was no way out - I'm not saying I haven't had help along the way - in fact, if it wasn't for my relationship with Scott I could possibly still be in a bad way - when we were together he was an enormous help in getting me back on my feet, and I returned the favor by keeping his house clean, cooking, cleaning, and proceeded to do so after I was working just as much as he did in addition to paying 50% of all bills. I never faked feelings to get anywhere and now that we've split, both of our names are on the house, but none of my equity went into this house and I'm damn sure not going to ask him to buy me out of it because it's his. I could take advantage of that situation in all sorts of ways - I choose not to. And it's not because I'm financially sound, I'm having to find a new job and relocate and move back in with my dad for a while - half of my share of this house is 80k if I were to ask for money. You make a choice to be who you are, and she made the choice to be a golddigging whore.

I didn't make any assumptions about your life. I think it's naive because there are many, many things that go in to a marriage and sadly, love is often pretty far down the priority list.

I'm aware of that, completely aware of that - I'm not oblivious to that at all.

And that my friend, is why those marriages are close to 50% of the time failures.

you don't get to comment on marriages until you've been married, or at least laid

getting married for love alone is not enough

it definitely needs to be part of the equation tho

I didn't know who this person was until a day ago, for what it's worth. I think y'all pay too much attention to these weird TV people. :dunno:

Yamori is right - I'm sure this is too much attention being paid to a weird tv person....but reading the conversation between tossica & gyps was actually pleasant, and made me think about some things. It was cool.

Now, I guess it's back to our regularly scheduled weirdness :p

So let's continue down that line of "logic", shall we?

Have you ever been President of the United States? No? Ok, you can't comment on the presidency or anything that it entails.

Are you in Iraq now? No? No more commenting on this war then since you obviously cannot possibly know anything about something you're not currently in.

In closing, I don't need to be part of a failure to comment on one.

no, it doesn't preclude you from voicing your opinion, but it makes that opinion much less meaningful than someone with the aforementioned experience

This thread is still going? It's old news. Until the Howard K Stern trial gets underway and they find him guilty of murder.

No... therein lies the humor. People that have seen the movie quietly chuckle to themselves when they read the post.

I get the feeling both her and her son were whacked. There's a lot of money at play, and there's a lot more to this story we probably won't hear for a while, I'd wager.
