They USED to put saltpeter in prison food but no one has done that for decades because it caused more problems than it solved.

I could easily say that you're not being impartial because you're sympathizing with him being an abused kid and you're looking completely at his side and not the side of the plaintiff because you feel that the dead are a lost cause and there's no bringing him back.

No, I just see his circumstances as mitigating factors. You aren't willing to look at them at all.

so what are you saying Mar? he should get Man1? or Murder 2?

I still don't think he should have been tried as an adult. Mentally he's not an adult.

Just for my 2 cents, bringing 2 guns + ammo into the school and shooting the person 3 times pretty blatantly points to premeditation and non-accidental shooting. If that's the case, he needs to be removed from society since he's a threat to others.

If it somehow WASN'T premeditated and was "done without thinking or really understanding what he was doing"... it means he's extremely unstable and is even MORE of a threat to others and definitely needs to be removed from the rest of society. Letting someone out of juvenile hall - who totes multiple lethal weapons into public places and kills people without much thought - is just plain insane.

If the comments about severe abuse/abandonment/mental incompetence/bullying and refused help from school/lack of psychiatric care/ect are true, then the ideal solution would be institutionalization for treatment followed by minimum security prison to somewhat minimize the major abuse scenarios he'd likely be subjected to in federal "pound-me-in-the-ass" prison... The 30 years for parole sounds pretty reasonable imo.

Though I hope that psycho doesn't actually MAKE parole in 30 years.

That's what we need, psycho murderers who have been in prison for 30 years to get out in their mid forties.
