Take Minda for instance, before he found the cult of the SDA he spent most of his time in a self destructive cycle with methamphetamines.
Hold up there sparky... My meth use spanned a time period of approximately 2 years, if that. And also, I only did it about a total of 20x in that 2 year period. I didn't have a problem with addiction, nor did I have to go to rehab. I was always in control of myself. I was just one of the unfortunate people who's body reacted in a very negative way after being up for 72 hours straight one time and I passed-out stone cold and woke up in the hospital. The doctor told me that a valve could have gone out on me because my heart was beating so fast. But they gave me valium and got my heart rate back down to normal range. They did an EKG and found out that there was no damage whatsoever to my heart or anything.
If you knew anything about methamphetamine, and this includes Brinstar, who likes to point out this bad event in my life after I volunteered to talk about it openly (thinking I would be talking to mature adults... /cough) you'd know that 2 years of off and on use is not going to turn anyone's brain into "swiss cheese" as he so eloquently claims. I would be willing to wager that at 38 years old, I'm in just as good of shape, if not better, than 99% of the people on the NT. The only one who can hold a candle to me shape-wise is probably Dana (Mop).
Now moving onward and upward...
I sincerely hope that when you label the SDA church as a "cult" that you mean it affectionately. Cult defined in the dictionary is: 1. A formal religious veneration, and 2. A religious system. So, I take it you knew that and you weren't trying to use the term "cult" as a negative descriptor of a "weird" Christian denomination, because if you were... I would have to conclude that you've never stepped inside an SDA church, or you wouldn't be saying such things.
Now, you went on to say this gem:
Through religion he has picked up an instant self appointed right to judge everyone else as being lesser than himself. Belittling others, in his mind, makes him better. So he has traded he crutch of drugs for the crutch of Christ. But hey, crutches aren’t a bad thing if you’re a cripple with no internal ability to self control.
That is so freaking stupid and wrong that it exemplifies a true "moronic" post. And to think... I used to actually feel that Scoota had somewhat of an IQ. Boy, was I wrong.
But at least you did say one thing right in your post, and that was:
The definition of "Liberal" Gidan posted is not what the self named "Liberals" in American politics are doing today. The self named "Liberals".... and the "Conservatives" for that matter... are both concerned with one thing only. Expanding the power and control of the government. Because a person is a government official does not make them any more competent, or honest, than the CEO of a company. The difference is if a social program is run by the government vs. a private company, you don't have the option not to participate. A great example is Social Security. I don't want to be involved with it, but I have no choice in the matter. If the Social Security program was run by a private company and it had been run into the state that it is in today... I guarantee you would see the executives going to court and getting prison sentences right behind the Enron and Global Crossing executives. But because it’s run by nameless faceless bureaucrats, we keep on paying into the scam.
Pretty elementary... but true regardless.
