This is where you got it all wrong Lyion. Show me sources where the government had PROOF that Iraq had WMD. I'm pretty sure that the burden of proof is on them if they want to invade another country and kill thousands of their civilians.

We didn't invade on proof. We couldn't get inspectors in because Saddam kept booting them out. It's not like we didn't give him years and years and plenty of opportunities to allow the inspectors in and to abide by the UN sanctions and resolutions.

We invaded on the high likelihood and intel that Iraq had WMDs, and the probability he would use them in the future, as he had in the past on the Kurds.

Every major intel organization in the world believed he had WMDs, so it's not really arguable, just spinnable for political purposes.

Hindsight is 20/20 and we'll probably never know the real truth, since if you put your army on someones border for a year with the intent to invade based on them having WMDs, there's a good chance they'll hide, destroy, or deliver those WMDs elsewhere. It's akin to the DEA sitting on Spazz's doorstep for a week letting him know they're coming in. I'm sure his mind altering substances would be long gone by then.

Wasn't implying that you were at all.

I was talking about the use of sanctions which allowed Saddam to exploit the Oil for Food program. Principle of which the French were lining their pockets from in trade for the attempt to cockblock our invasion.

Don't let Zan mislead you. He's indeed French, in a French speaking country, populated by tons of French people who declare themselves to be French. If he looked any more French, he'd be named Pepe Le peu.

Why do you think he has the political leanings he does?

Good news people Iran has expressed support for Iraq.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote:"Iran will provide assistance to the Iraqi government to establish full security. We believe strengthening the Iraqi government is tantamount to promoting security, peace and friendship in that country."

That's because they sense a US invasion and need all the support they can get.

Since Bush doesn't seem to have a problem with trampling on the Constitution, maybe he could just issue an executive order to grant himself one more term as president. He could say that Jesus told him to do it that way all the Mindias of the country will rally around him once more. And, of course once he announces that he'll be in power for four more years the Lyions and Marts can throw wild outlandish parties to celebrate the continued growth of the new Nazi party!

After all we need to be SCARED, so that we keep the GOP in power! Be afraid Phlemg.. be terrified, because ONLY the GOP can keep you safe!!!

This outlandish fantasy world you live in sounds like a scary place indeed.

Edit:

Oh and since you brought up Nazi's I don't suppose you can identify the man sitting next to Hitler and his significance to current Islamic facisim?

Image

Indeed parts of the Nazi mindset are alive and well in modern times, but not in the GOP or the Bush administration. In this man you will find the roots of radical terrorist organizations and perhaps maybe then you will start to truly understand what the war on terror is really about.

Oh please. Tell me the GOP isn't playing up this laughable "war on terror" to the max in hopes it'll help them secure power in the future. What else do they have? The great job they've done domestically? haha

I'm still waiting for some of you clueless lumps to answer the question. All this time and none of you have done it. All you can do is come back with failed retorts, like the one you attempted just now.

So, when one of you answers the damn question, I'll stop asking it.

WHAT HAS GEORGE W BUSH DONE TO BETTER THIS COUNTRY? And, I don't mean that, "he made us safer" bullshit. What has he, or the GOP done to make the United States a better country now than it was 6 years ago?

Of course I'll just sit back now while you and the rest ignore a question you can't answer and toss out more failed retorts to hide that fact.

Bush urged Congress to provide additional funding for border security, and deployed 6,000 National Guard troops to the United States-Mexico border.

Discarding whatever views you have for the reasons or the plan for Iraq now, Saddam isn't there anymore. That is a good thing.

President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR/Emergency Plan) is President Bush's pledge of $15 billion over the next five years (2003-2008) to fight the HIV/AIDS pandemic. As the largest international health initiative in history initiated by one nation to address a single disease, the program hopes to reach over 120 countries in the world, providing anti-retroviral treatment (ART) for 2 million, preventing 7 million new infections, and supporting care for 10 million

This budget represents more money contributed to fight AIDS globally than all other donor countries combined.

That doesn't specifically address this country alone, but is nonetheless a good thing.

That took me all of five minutes to find. I am sure there is plenty more. I have my issues with Bush like everybody else does. I don't however hold this conspiracy theorist-like view that he is the devil incarnate either.

I, unlike some of you, don't ride the extremism train.

Don't bother posting to Diekan, Harri. He doesn't read replies, and is completely unhinged in his attempt to be a wannabe Lewis Black, and just be an attack dog.

He's actually become worse than Mindia, and no fun like many others with opposing views.

For my own personal curiosity, I am just wondering what him and his ilk would reply to simple facts without any political or emotional leaning such as those. :dunno:

Diekan isn't an idiot, he's just a stubborn prick like I am when he is pissed off about something.

Hey... many posts ago I took the time to hunt down and post all the House Resolutions that the GOP voted down (items that would have been a great help to the people of this country - like more Pell Grant money, etc etc)... no one took the time to provide a sourced reply to explain the dissenting votes.

I just want to know what Bush has done for us (on the domestic side) that has GOP supporters standing behind him seemingly 100%

Let's say hypothetically that he is honest with his desire to win the war on terror and reasons for being in Iraq. I ask you, what good will success over there do when the country self-destructs from within? There's more to being a good president than fighting "the good war."
