Roseburg Police say a 16-year old student shot a fellow student three times in the stomach and once in the elbow. The violence unfolded in a courtyard outside the cafeteria building at roseburg high school about 7:45 this morning. Police captured the male suspect after he ran several blocks off campus. The suspect held a gun to his head as officers closed in. The teen was led away in handcuffs. The 16-year old victim was taken to Mercy Hospital in Roseburg where he's already had surgery and is now in stable... but critical condition. The CEO of Roseburg's Mercy Hospital says the victim is doing better than can be expected considering the bullet wounds. He also adds surgeons still need to remove two bullets from the victim. Immediately following the shooting... the school was forced into lockdown... about an hour later... the students were released to go home. The school will remain closed Friday. Roseburg Police are continuing their investigation with the Sheriff's Department and State Police. We do know the suspect was in a program for "at risk" kids.No motive for the shooting has been released and the suspect's name also has not been released.
