Saddam Hussein Saw al-Qaida As Threat

Postby Phlegm » Fri Sep 08, 2006 7:22 pm

On Friday the Senate released a report that Saddam Hussein regarded al-Qaida as a threat rather than a possible ally, contradicting assertions Bush has used to build support for the war in Iraq.

It discloses an October 2005 CIA assessment that before the war,
Saddam's government "did not have a relationship, harbor or turn a blind eye toward" al-Qaida operative Abu Musab al-Zarqawi or his associates.

I think it's pretty much been established that Bush-Co had their hearts set on invading Iraq from the start, even before 9/11, and that they manipulated intelligence around that event to stir up support for it. Not really anything new here, except perhaps the taste of political disgust in my mouth getting a bit worse. :p

Oh, I have no doubts at all that, that was their original intention from the get-go. What's sad is that even this new information people will just shrug their shoulders and run off to see who Vin Diseal is fucking irl.

I think other politicians, from BOTH sides, see these last 6 years as a litmus test. They now see what they can get away with - pretty much every and anything they want, because now it's more clear than ever just how truly stupid the average American really is.

If an imbecile can launch an all out war against another nation, under false pretenses and GET AWAY with it - just imagine what a president with an IQ above 80 is going to be able to do.

erm no

what is routinely surprising is the way certain factions here constantly ignore facts as long as possible, then just avoid the truth thereafter

Indeed. Like inaccurately cherry picking new reports of two year old information we already knew and listening to politicians spin it in election year hyperbole.

I'm sure the Ba'ath Iraqi's and Saddam himself interviewed for this in 2004, which is what this report uses, would never lie, and are as honest as Diekans views on women.

cause Bush & co. would never cherry pick only the reports that support their view!

On "Meet the Press" today, Cheney said that Bush would have ordered an invasion of Iraq even if the CIA had told him that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction. He also said that the U.S. invasion “was the right thing to do, and if we had to do it again, we would do exactly the same thing."

Spent more money than other president is history.

Out right lied to the people of the United States, launching us into a war with a country that had nothing to do with attacks on our soil.

Given huge tax breaks to the rich and ignored the plight of the average person.

Stood by and did nothing about the onslought of illegal immagrants that are bring more crime and poverty to this country.

Has worked ever so hard to take away individual rights and freedoms from the American people.

Yes, GW has certainly done a wonderful job... but hey... he says he said he loves Jesus and that's all people like Mindia need to hoist him up as one of the greatest leaders the US has ever seen!

And, the Lyions that stand behind him no matter what he does. EVEN now, that the truth has finally come out - well most of - you'll never get the right at accept that this man, this so called president, has done absolutely nothing but trash this country... you can't put an imbecile in charge and expect only good things to happen.

Oh, this is going to be fun! The reason this is going to be fun is because you should have replaced Bush with Clinton on your list of "worst U.S. presidents in history." In fact, Bush will not even go down in history as being one of the worst.

Let's start with this one:

Diekan said:

Out right lied to the people of the United States, launching us into a war with a country that had nothing to do with attacks on our soil.

Lies... hurrrr. Ever heard of a dumbshit president named William Jefferson Clinton? You know, the scandalous POS that lied more to the American people than anybody on the planet, and even got IMPEACHED?

Bush invaded Iraq and went after Saddam Houssein based on intel that GEORGE TENET (former head of the CIA that CLINTON appointed) gave him.

and then there's this little gem:

Diekan said:

Given huge tax breaks to the rich and ignored the plight of the average person.

HAHAHAHA that's so funny. Clinton taxed the "average person" more than Bush ever did. How do you think he balanced the budget? It was because of massive tax hikes, in the typical democrat fashion (tax & spend, tax & spend, tax & spend, tax & spend, etc.) Oh, you can close your eyes and ears and yell LA LA LA LA LA LA LA and pretend it didn't happen, but the proof is in our history.

Diekan said:

Stood by and did nothing about the onslought of illegal immagrants [sic] that are bring more crime and poverty to this country.

Yes and no. Bush has at least started in on this. Better late than never. He also started the Department of Homeland Security, beefed up Border Patrol, and has implemented fierce penalties for companies that hire illegal aliens. What did Clinton do about illegal immigration? Well, I'm waiting...

This one had me LAWLING:

Diekan said:

Has worked ever so hard to take away individual rights and freedoms from the American people.

:wtf: Your view of Bush and politics in general is extremely inaccurate and hazy.

What did Clinton do when the U.S.S. Cole was bombed?

I'll help you with this one... he did N O T H I N G.

So Bush spent more than any other president. Big effing deal. The country is safer, I certainly feel safer, and I would vote for him again in a heartbeat if there was no 2-term limit.

Bush is a good person and is doing what he feels is best for America, and for what is best for America's future. You really can't say that about the Clintonistas.

It's also kind of odd how the people who had knowledge of Clinton's scandals ended up missing or dead before they had a chance to testify.

Now I'm not saying that you liked Clinton. My whole point is that you named Bush as being the worst president in history, and he didn't even pull a quarter of the shit that Clinton did, yet you fail to name Clinton as one of the worst.

You are a bizarre individual.

not going to get into this but this line really means nothing

and even got IMPEACHED?

He was impeached right along party lines. Had it been a republican in office at the time with the exact same situation, he would not have been impeached due to the Rep majority. Now had the senate had the votes to remove him from office, then it would be worth mentioning.

Who gives a fuck if he was impeached or not. We're not talking Billy Bob here. We're talking about Smoken George Idonthaveaclue Bush... and all the wonderous things he's done for and to this country.

Bringing Clinton into is typical of right wing thinkers. It's how the try to hide the truth.

Smart Person: "Hey you do realize that the proof is out now that Iraq had no ties to bin Ladden, right?"

Bush Supporter: "Hey fuck you! Clinton got a blow job and was impeached!!!!111!!!!1"

Smart Person: "Uh yeah, that was 10 years ago... Bush lied to the world and invaded a country under those lies."

Bush Supporter: "You all got yer heads up Clinton's ass!!!11!!!! Praise Jesus!~!!"

Smart Person: "Dude we're not talking about CLINTON that was TEN YEARS ago!"

Bush Supporter: "Clinton got a blow job and got impeached!!!!"
