Oh no, the poor man. How can they be so cruel and barbaric??? He was abused as a child and should be given counseling and psychological rehabilitation. What's this world coming to?

You know this was my first thought too... then I asked why, what is to be gained? Compare it to other election time revelations and outings...

Foley and implication of other Republicans in a cover up - Don't vote for these %$#^ the entire party is corrupt.

Coulter - Republican voter fraud!!!

Kerry - I think the GOP payed him.. I mean they'd have to no one would intentionally damage their own credibility and that of their party so badly without big time pay off right?

Rev. Ted Haggard - Evangelical Christians, we know you wouldn't feel right about voting for Democrats, so just stay home everything you've believed about the religious right is wrong, leadership is a bunch of hypocritical closet homosexuals

Murtha - Don't vote for Democrats, their political power can be bought either by either alleged personal contributions, or contributions to their district. (Yea I know this one wasn't on the MSM, and no I didn't see it on Fox.. but I have seen the FBI video tape of the shady transaction)

Hussein convicted and sentenced to death...
....
okay so where is the political advantage, Now his capture sure I can see that, Bin Laden's capture or death, yep would most definitely be a political boost, but Husseins conviction? I doubt the sentence will be carried out before election day, and did anyone really think the verdict and sentence would be anything different? I'm not saying I don't believe the Bush administration wouldn't put pressure or facilitate things to have the verdict and sentence before election day, that is entirely possible, I just don't see the point really. I guess you could point to it as a progress point in Iraq, but in my mind it's only real significance will be the removal of fear from the Iraqi people that he might some day return to power, as far as a mile marker for progress his conviction and sentence is a pretty weak insignificant one. Hmm maybe it's a ploy to get his defense attorney Ramsey Clark on all the Sunday morning talk shows, that one might actually influence some Americans.

Christians aren't the ones who sentenced him.

That's one of the things I struggle with as a Christian. I put myself in the shoes of a victim's family and try to understand, and feel, their pain and suffering after losing a loved one (to a violent crime), and then those emotions usually turn into immense anger towards the assailant. So, I can understand how a Christian or anybody else would want to get back at the perpetrator somehow, and "life without parole" doesn't seem to reach the desired level of satisfaction. Yes, that goes against Christian principles, but it is such a highly emotional issue that we don't always do the right thing. Then on the other hand, are you sure you have the right perpetrator? (not talking about Saddam, but other convicted people). Do we know for absolute certainty that the accused really did the crime? Is the evidence overwhelming, or are we sentencing to death an innocent person? (again, not talking about Saddam... just responding to your post, Burgy).

I say we dig a big pit and put him in the bottom, and then let all the Iraqi's urinate on Saddam until the pit fills up and he drowns in piss.

Saddam dies and the next dickhead will take his spot. Doesn't really solve anything. Just makes us feel a little warmer and fuzzier inside.
