I'm sorry to hear that. I've dealt with cancer myself. I wish you all the best, you and your father are in my prayers.

That sucks, Dammuzis. Sorry to hear it. About all I can say is to enjoy what time you've got left with him. If there's anything you ever wanted to say or talk about but hadn't gotten around to doing it yet, now'd be the time...

Good luck in dealing with all this, hopefully treatment will work better than expected and he'll last a lot longer than the initial prognosis...

Sorry to hear that man, that really sucks. Hang in there, you'll be ight.

They told us my grandaddy had less than a month to live from lung cancer a few years back. His lungs were so shot from working in an alloy plant with asbestas (sp?), smoking, and some black lung from the coal mines that he was impossible to operate on. His lungs looked like swiss cheese. After being told he had such a short time to live, he still kicked for a few years. He went into the hospital a month or so ago with pnuemonia and got a Stahf infection and a few other infections and that finally got em a few weeks ago.

One of our secretarys sisters was diagnosed lung cancer 7 years ago and given less than 3 months, and shes still goin strong, all things considered.

My point is - try and stay positive, ya never know.

I lost my father to liver cancer so I have an idea of what you're going through. If you and him have any disputes between you, better settle em now. In fact, use this time to clear any beef with anyone in your family and maybe renew any relationships that aren't so great to begin with. Also, don't treat him any differently than you normally would. Worse thing to do to a person with a terminal illness is to treat em like they have one. Also, if he hasn't written a will, briefly mention for him to do so and have his lawyer or an some kind of impartial 3rd party handle it. I know that might sound selfish but it's better than his death causing a huge rift in your family. I currently have 0 relationship with my family as a result so trust me on that one.

I'm really sorry, Dammuzis :(
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.
