This is pretty sad.

A few years back I had the opportunity to spend a day with Senator Thomas (House Representative at the time) in Washington. He is a very down to earth individual and quite different then most politicians I've ever been around. I really wish we had more with his character on both sides of the political spectrum in Washington.

Edit: The article doesn't say it but he passed today.
