Barry's inauguration

Postby Narrock » Tue Jan 20, 2009 6:53 am

is costing taxpayers approximately $170 million. What an asshole. Great move Barry... especially in this economy. It's just a sign of things to come. Really... what a complete asshat.

Don't blame Obama for having such a large fan base your party or representation could only DREAM OF. Idiot Bush cost us 40million for his 2nd inauguration and more that 50% of the nation hated that fucker.

You see, millions want to see history take place when Obama takes office, unlike the $40mil. scar Bush gave us.

The 40 million vs 170 million is an inaccurate comparison as the 40 million figure does not include various security costs that are included in the 170 million figure. The accurate comparison is somewhere around 157 million to the projected 170 million. Considering that this inauguration is a first in our countries history I and that we are comparing a first term inauguration to a second term inauguration this is really a non issue.

So really there is no need to make comparisons between Obama's inauguration spending and Bush's total administration spending as if the two were even in any remote sense equivalent, nor is there any real need to falsely claim that over half the country hated Bush during his 2004 inauguration address, while pretending there is massive Obama support when both received over 50 percent of the popular vote in the presidential election, and Obama only got 2.18 percent more of the popular vote then Bush did in 2004.

Why do people write like he's going to write back... That's how Mindia has existed on this board for the past 5 years.

Start a thread that somehow quotes some fact or figure or opinion that he didn't come up with... Then walk away as everyone, on both sides, calls him an idiot. Come back in a couple weeks and repeat. He never actually comes up with anything on his own...

He's basically a female sportscaster. You ever notice that in *every* sport, the on-the-court female sportscasters don't actually 'say' anything, they just give you a report on what the coach said during halftime, or what some players are saying... or... whatever. Then they pan back to the guys in the booth where they digest that info and come up with their own opinions. That's Mindia - "Rush Limbaugh said this, haha, isn't that awesome. And liberals suck because, well, I read that somewhere."

Of course, there's still the theory that he's just another personality of mine, ala Fightclub. Wouldn't that be crazy?

Lueyen, you need to look at current poll numbers for what people are referring to as far as popularity goes. He's running at something like an 80% approval rate right now; even a plurality of Republicans is giving him good marks at the moment.

First off, Rain Man, I don't listen to Rush. Secondly, I gave up trying to argue any point here that opposes or offends leftist philosophy that so many of you brainwashed simpletons subscribe to. I call it as I see it, and I'm not going to waste time arguing with 20 regulars who all agree with each other politically. It's still fun though to present facts and point out things that piss you fuckers off... even if it is darting in and out with short comments. The NT is just a source of entertainment for me. Most of you retards wouldn't last 2 days on a serious board. :boots:

Oh, and Barry's inauguration speech was completely laughable, and devoid of any awe-inspiring commentary. It was also funny listening to him fumble on the oaf, I mean oath, of office with Chief Justice Roberts. Oh, and let's not forget the disastrous attempt by Urethra Franklin to sing anymore. She landed more flat notes and couldn't even reach the necessary octave to complete the song satisfactorily.

Chief Justice fucked it up and "Barry" gave him the "are you sure about that?" look so the Justice corrected himself. Go watch it again.

When you start nit-picking about the singer that just shows how desperate you really are. You went from ridiculous to pathetic.

Yeah sorry dude I hate the guy too, but when you start nitpicking about stupid shit like him stuttering or almost making a mistake (I didnt see it, didnt care to, dont care to, so im going on whats been said here), either way is pretty stupid, and going after the singer is even dumber when your talking about the presidential inauguration, its not the MTV superbowl halftime show

Mindia, even you have to admit that Obama is a more skilled orator than Bush or McCain, even if he fumbles some words now and then. Sure, he's a democrat, he's a liberal, he's whatever else you aren't too keen on, but the man has a commanding voice and knows how to use it. Am I an Obama supporter? Did I vote for him? No way.

But who knows? Maybe he'll end up being more fiscally conservative than we expect. Maybe he'll actually get rid of some useless government. The man doesn't understand the constitution very well, but he isn't retarded either.

The bottom line is that he is our President now. Sure, we both would have liked to see someone else get the job, but that didn't happen. It's time to ask yourself what's more important... being an American, or being a Republican? I'm not implying that you should sit back and accept whatever decisions he makes, either. He has a lot to prove, and honestly I expect people to be disappointed sooner than later. He'll probably make our economic situation worse with Keynesian-style government spending.

We're stuck with him for four years. Do you really want to spend all those four years bitching and moaning, and blaming Democrats for every problem that comes up? Can't you find anything about him that you find redeeming?

Uh, the man taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago law school. I daresay he knows far more than you do about the Constitution.

do you seriously just regurgitate everything fox says? they talked about this for like a half hour yesterday because they have nothing else to bitch about anymore.

you know, part of the cost is the security necessary, thanks to your beloved fox news brethren who have already put threats on his life. so hey, thanks Mindia's ilk, for costing me money.
