so what exactly are you for? a law prohibiting low income people from having sex ever? or is your solution to make adoption the only option, which means you're neglecting the reality that from conception to birth hospital bills still exist and are rather high?

Quick, kill it before it becomes a Republican.

Tbqh, no I didn't know that, and I appreciate the info. I'm still against the premise of government forcing any company, corporation, or business to give away products or services for free. It's really stupid anyway if you think about it. Those companies are going to build that financial loss into other areas of their business and we're going to pay for it one way or the other. Companies aren't stupid lol. So essentially, the end result is a mere perceived freebie. Why doesn't government just pay for it out of the general fund? Oh wait, they already spent all of it.Arlos wrote:Uh, Mindia, you do know that birth control is far from the only medical service on the list of services/products that insurance companies are required to supply without charge/copay? There was NO such complaint or ranting and raving about the other services either. For your edification, that list includes:* Blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol tests

Notice that these are all preventive care items, where by performing them, the companies SAVE money in the long run, often significant money. What that recent decision did is add birth control to that list of preventive care items. (given that keeping someone from having a baby saves TONS of money in pregnancy costs, etc.) So honestly, I don't believe for 1 minute that the people protesting this decision are doing so because of some sense of "Must save capitalism!" or other such silliness. They're bitching because it's birth control. Period.

You're usually belly-aching and foaming at the mouth for your rights and civil liberties, etc. I'm pretty disgusted with the greed and corruption of big business, especially insurance companies, but to FORCE them to provide FREE medicine without a copay is so un-American it's not even funny. What another clear example that failprez barry is the absolute worst president in U.S. history, and Eric Holder is the worst attorney general in U.S. history. What another sad, sad day for America... All the insurance companies are going to do is raise prices to make up for this debacle anyway. The short-sightedness and downright stupidity of these leftists is absolutely mind-boggling.
