Ok, so here was the lineup:

Michele Bachmann
Bachmann is a three-term congresswoman and founder of the House Tea Party Caucus. She is a former attorney known for fiery attacks on President Obama and her formidable fundraising.

Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show

Newt Gingrich
Gingrich served nearly four years as Speaker of the House after leading the 1994 Republican Revolution. He was first elected to Congress in 1978 and served through 1998. He has authored more than a dozen books.

Jon Huntsman
Huntsman is a former U.S. ambassador to China and a former two-term governor of Utah. His father is billionaire businessman and philanthropist Jon Huntsman Sr.

Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. He’s an obstetrician-gynecologist and was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008

Tim Pawlenty
Pawlenty served two terms as governor of Minnesota, from 2002 to 2010. He served in the Minnesota House from 1992 until 2002. He is the son of a truck driver.

Mitt Romney
Romney is the former governor of Massachusetts. He was the head of a private equity firm and is credited with rescuing the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He unsuccessfully ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.

Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006


Before I give my opinion on them I need to say that ANY one of them is more qualified to be president than the current ignorant turd we have in the White House. Actually, that's a fact, not an opinion.

Bachmann: - Intelligent; Proven fighter against the demotards; Good speaker; Very conservative; Would bring a no-nonsense approach to the White House; Side note... gorgeous woman ; Has presidential stature. Downside: No passion... no fire in her belly. Kind of boring to listen to... needs to bring up her "Good speaker" status to "Excellent speaker" status.

Cain: - VERY intelligent... has degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science; Proven successful businessman; Proven job creator; Very conservative; Very good orator. Has presidential stature. Downside: None

Gingrich: - Very intelligent; Very good orator; Very conservative; Proven fighter against the demotards. Downside: Reminds me too much of a member of the good ol boy network, a typical upper east side country club republican; Has nominal presidential stature. Has too much baggage.

Huntsman: - Proven successful leadership in Utah; Intelligent; Decent orator; Very conservative. Downside: Outsourced to foreign countries; Laid off a lot of American workers; Lacks presidential stature.

Paul: - Very intelligent; Conservative; Has a lot of good ideas. Downside: Not conservative enough; Has as many wacky ideas as he has good ones; Horrible orator; Lacks presidential stature.

Pawlenty: - Very conservative; Proven fighter against the demotards; Decent orator. Downside: Distorted facts in the debate; Lacks presidential stature; Not intelligent enough.

Romney: - Conservative; Very good orator; Very intelligent; Has definite presidential stature; Proven successful businessman. Downside: Too much baggage with Obamneycare. His health care deal for Mass. was too close to failprez barry's. I'll give him another chance though in the next candidate debates.

Santorum: Very Conservative; Good orator. Downside: Distorted facts in the debate; Lacks presidential stature; Comes off as a jocktard. He should probably just be a high school football coach or something.



The clear winner, imo, was Herman Cain. I'd like to see what Bachmann and Romney can do in the next debates. The rest of them can take a flying leap.

say what? I'd argue that Paul is the most conservative of the bunch. unless you specifically mean "not socially conservative enough" -- Paul is a gov't "hands off" in every aspect of his ideals. How can you not be conservative enough when your entire stance is for the government to not spend any money on anything essentially?

frankly, I don't know why this guy should get any praise. congrats to him saying "no more" but the whole problem with the way politics in the US work in the first place is due to people like him that have paid them ridiculous amounts previously. I mean really, $183k in political donations? And hell, that's a splash in the bucket for most people of his stature. And these are are the same members of the top tax bracket who want to cry about repealing the tax cuts that were specifically written with an expiration date just to get them passed? So, contributing your fair share to the country's well being and progress is socialism, but contributing absurd amounts and giving the upper hand to the politicians "running" the country to match your personal goals is perfectly acceptable. Right.

I find the lobbying and the loopholes through which the insanely rich can work to manipulate how this country is run is repulsive, and the recent influx of PACs in response to the Citizens United case last year is even moreso repugnant. FFS, if Stephen Colbert can get a PAC spending an uncapped and unreported amount of funds to run sattirical political ads with a PAC that has no specific mission statement, what does that say about serious "super" PACs?

Thanks to Citizens United, big business' influence in DC has become exponentially higher, which only lends to more corruption. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than a handful of CEOs snagging their 5 minutes in the national spotlight to slow down political donations after last year's ruling.
