possible terrorist attack in London

Postby mofish » Thu Jul 07, 2005 5:22 am

Coordinated bombs all over the city, day after being awarded 2012 Olympics, and while G8 is going on in Scotland. So far at least 2 dead and 90 injured. Bleh :(

Considering the very low death toll, I'm guessing it will turn out to be enviro-wackos, anti-poverty kooks or those leftwing anarchist punks. Muslim terrorists would have killed far more people. Just think about how many thousands they could have killed with these same bombs had they attended Live 8 and set them off there, for example. Nor would they have waited until after rush hour to set off the bombs.

No, these explosions were planted and set to go off with minimum loss of life. Probably no loss.

With Tony Blair leaving the talks you gotta wonder how much will be decided anyway.

Supposedly some al Qaeda cell is claiming responsibility but authorities aren't sure they really are.

There's nothing that makes a man feel like a man like hiding in the shadows and bombing innocent bus riders.

Someone find these Al-Queida websites and we can plow their messageboards with sarcasm.

Except that's not how it works. The Muslims with web access just post nastiness about the US.

The suicide bombers are usually from dirt poor areas and are recruited to fight imperialism. When they get to their destination, they find out their 'fight' is actually strapping on shrapnel and explosives and detonating themselves in civilian areas.

By this time they have no choice and anyone who does try and resist is informed their family, who are also dirt poor, will have to pay for everything if they back oout and they'll have to find a way home without any support. That is the best case scenario, since backing out generally results in a lot of religious threatening that overwhelms these people.

The problem isn't the bombers, it's the infrastructures and the people like Bin Laden and other Saudi's who fund this garbage. No cash = no bombings.

We could always do like Hillary wants to do with Korea. Tell them if they are good little boys we'll send them an aid package.

Well yes, poverty and global warming *are* rather obviously bigger threats to global peace than terrorism. How many people have died in Africa from starvation in the last 5 years compared to those from terrorism? Or does your God consider the lives of poor blacks in Africa as less important than those of affluent Americans, Mindia?

Nice witness for your God you are.

And Global Warming is a real threat to *billions* of people. Last year was the worst hurricane season on record, wasn't it? How much damage was caused? Might it have had something to do with climate change?

As opposed to bombing them and having them flatten Seoul, and possibly nuke US targets or Japan? How is that "better" in any sane way?

Because bad behavior shouldn't be rewarded. That's why.

What they've always wanted is for us to get the hell out of the middle east.

And I'd be all in favor of that.

And you honestly think they wouldn't see that as weakness and step up their attacks?

No, what they've always wanted is to kill anyone and everyone who isn’t extremist Muslim.

And if we "rewarded" N. Korea for being good that just sets up the trend for other countries to follow their suite. VERY bad idea.

I hate to pull you out of your sandbox and give you a healthy dose of reality, but terrorism is more important (right now) than global warming and what's going on in Africa. I hope that Bush and other leaders focus primarily on coming up for a solution to the terrorism problem, and make global warming and "Africans with aids" a secondary issue. It's all about prioritization. You would be a piss-poor manager/leader, Rust.

Ok, and when they start to overrun Europe and want us out, should we leave there, too?
Eventually, they would end up on your doorstep.

Ignoring Fascism and rewarding terrorism as Labbats said should never be rewarded.
