67 is way too young to die. Damned cigarettes...

RIP Mr Jennings. I didnt know you, but your voice is as familiar to me as my parents, having grown up listening to you.

One good thing about the mormons here in SLC. They support anti-smoking campaigns. There is a full-on assault going on in Salt Lake. Not sure if its like this in other towns. You can still legally smoke here in bars and stuff. But huge PR campaign, commercials, Thetruth.com billboards everywhere. See it every day. Bravo Thetruth.com, and dare I say, bravo LDS church.
You were right Tikker. We suck.

There are more positives than negatives that can be spoken about the LDS's. They are good people.

What's your point? If you weren't a complete smacktard you'd know that I was just rattling some chains with that. 67 is way too young to die, and it was the cigarettes that killed him. Jennings was a good news anchor. I grew up watching him too. :(

I'm very sorry to see anyone die, especially of lung cancer. That could not have been a peaceful and painless death, which is too bad. However, 67 is not too young to die, imho. That's about the age I would like to go at. Old enough to have lived a full life, but not so old as to be a senile burden on my loved ones.

When you get closer to it, you'll see 67 isn't very old at all. My grandmother is 88 and going strong. Her mother was 96 and still travelling around the world when she died.

Age is what you make of it.

RIP Peter Jennings. You were a class act.

So, wait. You posted something that was designed to cause argument and dissention among an internet community?

Isn't that the definition of a troll? But then, you said that you never troll. Or if you do, it's because you are responding to somebody else's troll.

But that can't be the case here, because you started the topic. Hmmm.

Wow, are you gonna derail this thread too talking about whether I troll or not? You need to get a life. Have you no shame? Peter Jennings was a good anchor even though he would throw in some biased comments against the republican party, and for the democrats. That's what I didn't like about him. But that still does not discount the fact that Jennings was overall a good news anchor figurehead that a lot of us grew up with. When I said "it couldn't have happened to a better socialist" I was kidding. If you're too much of a dolt to figure that out maybe you should join another message board that caters to intellectually-challenged people such as yourself.

My grandmother still mows her own grass at 81, not really frail at all. Her mind is that of a 30 year old. I would love to make it to 81. Unfortunately, Im the wrong gender for longetivity.

At age 93 we had to take my grandfathers ladder away so he would stop climbing on the roof. After falling last time and nothing happening physically to him, we decided that we shouldnt tempt fate.

NT caters to you, does it not? I mean, if NT can support your (lack of) intellect, surely any and everyone else is more than welcome to share their perspective.

There are few members of the media of Peter Jennings' caliber - Mart is right, too. 67 is so young now.. once upon a time, if you lived to be 67 you lived to a ripe old age - now, it's just so sad to see such a short life =\

Diagnosis to dead in four months. Just what are you going to be doing four months from now?

Would you care to agree to a truce? This bickering back and forth is kinda silly is it not? You say I'm offensive, yet you say things that I take as offensive too. You want to start over and fresh, clean slate? I'm game. Let me know if you are too.
