Lakeland Community College.

There was a girl in class that was everything D.Duck described, and I wanted to strangle her.

I prefer people and prefer to hire/use people who did ALL their schooling through classroom schooling. My cousin did all of her math online and made Gid do it so she could pass. She wants to be a doctor. (As if she will ever make it that far.) I do not want her to be writing my prescriptions without knowing basic math, or how the chemicals will react together.

People do other people's homework all the time, online or on-ground. If you're going to cheat you're going to cheat.

Tests. He took all tests and quizzes.
Much harder to cheat inclass on tests.

I know someone who does online school and to be honest I could not do it. Every single one of her classes (UoPhoenix) is about 80% "group tasks" and every one of her groups has had a slacker in it who doesnt contribute crap and gets the same grade as the others in the group. The professors are supposed to read chat logs etc to determine level of contribution of each member of the group but if they are doing that there is no evidence of it.

I refuse to carry some slacker through a degree program. If there was more individual contributions in her overall grade it might not be so bad, but as it stands they just blanket grade everyone in the group and the majority of their overall grade is mouched off of someone elses work.

Welcome to high school. I hated that shit. I hated group projects because I was a perfectionist in those things, so I did all the parts needed and whoever didnt do their part, I used my extra.

I tried online schooling. I got the first book from them and never did it, never paid them, I just forgot about it. I need someone in my face telling me that this, this, and this needs to be done. I cant teach myself. I'll end up learning wrong.

I did a total of 3 group projects in college, 1 was the design of an OS (needed to be a group project, was way to much work for a single person, required groups of 2,3 and sometimes 4 or 5 to compelte), Another was to simulate a real world project the a company might have that woudl ahve a team of peopel working on it and some random group thing in a random class.

The random group thing was the perfect example of carryign peopel who didn't want to do anything. The group got a single grade on the project regardless of who did what.

The other 2 groups were very closely followed and every person of the group was graded based on work they actually put forth toward the project and on the project itself.

An online class doing a group project must be a total nightmare and would never want to even think about doing that.

I just finished up an Environmental Sci class last semester, and on our final paper the teacher said that you don't have to, but it's recommended to work with a partner to write the paper. Mental response was something like F that I didn't take this class to work with other people, I took it so I could work my own pace and be home with my kids. I got 70/70 and was glad I worked by myself because a bunch of the other papers were a whole lotta crap. Hate group projects. You never know what you're going to end up with. :-x
