Math trick

1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer?
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

x is your first 3 digits, y is your last 4

2) x
3) 80x
4) 80x + 1
5) 20 000x + 250
7) 20 000x + 250 +2y
8) 20 000x +2y
9) 10 000x + y

so if your first 3 digits were 123 you would have 1 230 000 + your last 4 digits

You take things apart around the house and don't know how to put them back together, don't you?

Did you know that there was red goo inside of Stretch Armstrong?
The object of life is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to come screaching in to the grave sidelong in a beatup wreck of a body, loudly proclaiming "WOW What a ride!"

You guys are too young to remember the real Stretch Armstrong. It was definitely a red goop.

Ok my Boss did this one to me.

Do you have a quick answer to this one?

Three men go to a motel and rent a room. The deskman charges them $30
for the room. The manager of the motel comes in and says that the
deskman has charged them too much, that it should only be $25.

The manager then goes to the cash drawer and gets five $1.00 bills,
and has the bellboy take the money back to the three men. On his way
up to the room, the bellboy decides to give each of the men only one
dollar apiece back and keep the other two dollars for himself.

Now that each one of the men has received one dollar back this means
that they only paid $9.00 apiece for the room. So three times the
$9.00 is 27.00 plus the $2.00 the bellboy kept comes to $29. Where is
the other dollar?

There isn't another dollar.

The total cost of the room was $25 which is $8.33 each. The bellboy kept $2 and charged the men $9 each for the room, .67 more than the actual cost.

I guess I don't get the problem.

Toss is right.

So three times the
$9.00 is 27.00 plus the $2.00 the bellboy kept comes to $29. Where is
the other dollar?

The problem is this sentence is a bold faced lie, a la a quick change analogy. The 2 dollars is from the 5 between 25 and 30, minus 3, and has no bearing on the original 30.
