Recently the oral surgeons have sent out memos to everyone in dentistry letting them know about contraindications for extraction of teeth. (pulling teeth.)

if you, your mother, etc...are taking calcium supplements called fosamax, or anything like it-you cannot have your teeth extracted. Most women (especially older women) think that it's a vitamin and not medication..so they will not tell the oral surgeon/dentist about the medication on their health history or at all.

the problem, that we now know (and in my opinion is completely a pharmaceutical issue!!!) is that patients taking the calcium supplements will risk osteonecrosis if a tooth is taken out. this means, that the bone dies basically. It just goes away. One woman almost died, one woman lost her entire lower jaw...and the cases are getting worse.

please please please warn your mothers/grandmothers, etc...(some men too!!) of this risk and let them know to inform their doctors! they need to stop taking the medicine too...I see lawsuits piling up already.
