we're bitching about remote batteries but THEY'RE the ones that made the remote control!! That's right. Sure, minorities got together and stood up for themselves and demanded something-when there was nothing. It's not like they all got together and said, "hey we're going to be old one day so we better start demanding things so we'll go down in history as the ones who fought for something!" Uhh...no...they were strong individuals and en masse they made a difference.
And Vietnam? No, thanks I'd rather have 50,000 fathers, sons and brothers alive.

Our's is a generation that has done nothing but master the art of piss poor parenting, become the fattest society on the planet, and has earned the title of the dumbest of all the industrial / modernized countries.
If this generation consists of piss-poor parenting then it came directly from piss-poor parents. And while I think there is a lot of piss-poor parenting going on...I guarantee you there are just as many good parents. I am willing to bet many posters on this board could out-parent their own parents today thanks to our changed ways of thinking.
We might be fat, but I remember as a kid eating homemade biscuits with Hershey's chocolate syrup. I didn't make it myself, it was given to me. If I continued to eat like that my entire life, who would I blame for my fas ass? me, or my folks? At what point do people take responsibility for their own actions?
Also, our education system is not what I made it, or my parents even. It's what we're given. It's controlled by someone else, not me or my family. When my family tried to take control and give me a great education, it ended up costing way too much money. I had to sacrifice a good (good meaning one you pay for) education for dinner at night. They set us up for this, don't give me shit for an education and ask me why I'm so stupid.

Perhaps. But in this society, it sucks to get old, noone appreciates the older generation, and noone respects anyone next door anymore, either. So while I can joke around about older folks being bitchy, at the same time I can see why. But I don't think it's any of the reasons you listed.
Bottom line is:
Our Generation = shitty parents, fat, stupid and lazy.
Their Generation = fought for civil rights, fought for women's rights, stood for or against Veitnam, and everything else I haven't listed.
Society is what we've made it. Look around you-there is a McDonald's on every corner. I didn't put them there. I'm not saying my grandad did either...but this is life. Things change and people have to be willing to accept that at any age. I'm not saying people aren't a disgrace in this country. Sure they are, but they were there when the boomers were young also. In fact, many of them were pot-smoking peace-loving hippies themselves. So what if our generation came out with excellent video gaming. I think that's pretty fucking fantastic.
The US is one of the only countries that treats its elders like shit.
This is the only thing you said that I really agree with.
