Managing MP3 database

Postby Tikker » Sun Oct 08, 2006 3:07 pm

Over the years my music collection has gotten fairly large, and I'm finding it harder to keep everything sorted in a manner to make it easy to at music the way I want to (some days it's genre's, some days artists, some days just stuff from a certain era, etc etc)

what do you guys use to play your music, and manage your playlists?

I sort my music by folder, each folder is by artist, and within that is each album per folder.

I individually tag each of my mp3s as well.

Chances are very good that you've never touched Linux a day in your pathetic life.

I use my creative touch. It automatically organizes by genre, artist, album, song title, playlist. Just select the organization you want at the moment and it compiles a list. The software for the computer does it as well. Works pretty nicely.

I deleted all mine after I burned it to a cd. And now I will download some more once I find a program that isn't being watched by the government.

Media Monkey

http://mediamonkey.com

I use it to manage my database of music (only 16GIG) and sync with my music player.

I always wear my foil hat when playing my MP3's and such. Just in case you know.

the new winamp has kind of a neat thing where you can use it as a webserver for your mp3's
