I'm gonna have to agree with Tuggan on this one.

Anyone who says they consistently work 60+ hours a week is full of shit. You may work 60 Hours every now and then but not every week, guaranteed.

I've been working 70+ hours a week for over 2 years. 80 for the holidays. I could work 50-60 but I choose to work. Anyone who says they are forced to work 80+ is full of shit. Some of us have nothing better to do.

I have a new job and it's three days/week around twenty-one hours and I'm like, omg what I have done. I'm going straight to the poor house.

The only people I know who are basically forced to work 80+ hours are video game company employees. For them it's not all the time, of course, btu as games get close to release date, 100+ hour weeks become the norm. No, I'm not kidding, either.

Your brother does that right?

Anyways, yeah when there's a deadline definately 80+ hours becomes common.

Yeah, my brother does that. Fortunately for him, he's now gotten into a position where he won't have to do that any more. He actually doesn't work on any one given game any more, he works as the liaison between developer houses and the publisher he works for. So, he's got a few games he's responsible for, but he's not involved in the day-to-day development. He more makes sure they stay on schedule, that they've got all the necessary elements in their plans and scheduling, and arranges to get the development houses any resources they might need from the publisher. (in terms of assistance with testing, etc. etc. etc.)

I'm actually really looking forward to one of the games he's overseeing, it looks cool enough to possibly actually get me to obtain a xbox 360. The game's called Mass Effect, and is being done by the same people who did KOTOR and KOTOR2. http://masseffect.bioware.com/

Anyway, he generally works about 60 hour weeks as a matter of course now, but at least that's his maximum in general, no more crunch time 20-hour work stretch, nap on cot in break room for 2-3 hours, get up and get back to work, and not see home for a week at a time type cycles.

So says Mr. GED

*yawn* You guys get old pretty quick.

I don't need your opinions to know that my sentence holds valid. Unless you are in one fuck of a course load, if you spend 8 hours a fucking day, you are a retard.
How do you like this spoiler, motherfucker? -Lyion

Going back in after a 2 hour nap and a shower to work. On the plus side, if I were to work like this every week, I'd pull down $130k a year, so I am being duly compensated.

Well, my dad and I started a company building mining equipment a while back, and starting a company takes time...a lot of it. I handle a lot of paperwork like sorting out PO's, invoices, etc., on top of doing some dirty work in the shop and at mines. I go in on Saturdays and do paperwork a lot of the time too. With all that, yes, normally I am around 60 or more a week. Maybe not every single week, but at the least 50 or so.
