I've got a Creative Zen Touch. I like it. The touch pad is tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you can fly through selections. I like the way it's setup. I can't remember if mines 20 gig or 30 gig but I don't use half of either, and it was about $200.

I have a creative zen micro... Before that I have had like 8 other MP3 players... All broke or sucked so much balls I was forced to conjure lightning and destroy them. I also had TWO Ipod shuffles both broke... They sucked worse than anything. Luckily crApple gave me my money back.

The Creative Zen Micro is hands down the best one I have had yet. It's the only one where the fucking software is easy to use and actually works instantly. The size, battery life and sound quality are all top notch. I also like the lights... I think they put some radioactive plutonium inside so that is glows. For the money you can't do better either.

My recommendation is to buy one from Best Buy with their spiffy upgraded warranty... They have a warranty where if you have any problems with it you can literally walk into the store and walk out with a new one... Also the warranty allows you to upgrade to the next best version for like two years.

Ipod's are for ultra-trendy bisexual emo posheurs who listen to the smiths while taking short breaks to suck cock.

That's the other thing about the Creatives. Battery life is extremely good. My Touch is 24 hours, I think the micro is 16?

I've got an RCA lyra 2780

it plays video as well as music

it's a fair bit bigger than most of the little flash mp3 players, but it's 20g (or put whatever laptop drive into it you want) and movies look pretty good on it

You can swap out the HD on pretty much anything, depending on whether you can solder or not.

Also, please buy MP3 players with HD's, and not flash memory. In fact, any consumer electronic, choose HD over Flash. Thanks!

they actually have 20gb flash cards? I haven't seen any over 2, but I haven't gone looking. My little brother had an older mp3 player that you could use actual flash cards (rather than built in flash memory), are there any like that? I know of new recording devices though by marantz, edirol and m-audio that take flash cards. cool things.

Rio makes a flash mp3 player that uses cards, in addition to the internal flash, which I might get for snowboarding.

Rio also makes a 20 GB HD player, which I have and would also recommend.

and also: i think i'm looking into the zen micro that ralf recommends so highly. 230$ isn't bad for 8gb, and that won't be too far out of my price range by july.
