So.. it's the year anniversary of my gramma's passing, and my mom is having a super hard time - she works 2 jobs and never gets time off; she really needs to get away because she and my gramma were best friends. she was going to go see her sister but decided she couldn't afford it, and I decided that I wasn't going to allow for that because she really does need to go see her

long story short, I need to find a fairly cheap ticket for her, because I'm no richie rich myself and would prefer not to dip into my savings for the house if I don't have to - I've scoured the web as much as I can, and the cheapest I can find is if she goes out of Richmond (which is an hour away) and into JFK (which isn't quite near the mountains where she's headed) and that'd be 170 after tax flying Jetblue, plus the cost of the gas for the extra driving. Aside from that, the cheapest I can find is $260. I checked retailmenot and a few other coupon sites, but can't find a decent coupon that works~

I know there are a few of you who travel a ton, so maybe, just maybe, one of you knows a rock I can check under for a coupon! I'm all about some coupons, for real.

recently some friends and I were comparing costs and it worked out that the train was much less expensive than a flight from here to New York...maybe see what those rates are, too.

also, labbats gave me the advice to buy my airline ticket straight from the Plane co (or however you say that) so I went to Continental Airlines (who is the only airline that isn't owned by the bank) and bought my ticket for much less than if I'd gone online to one of the websites.
