Dinner is a great first date. If it goes badly, just talk about yourself until it's over. If it goes well, go out for drinks. If it goes really well, you'll know what to do

Simple, fun and she got to know me. That's the idea. It's hard to conversate when you are hanging from a wall.

did you just say conversate :(

Why don't you ask her what her hobbies are.? That way, try to find one that you think might suit you as well. Then go do it together and then go for a drink and chat after that in a nice cafe.

Or you could settle for simple dinner and get to know each other better but you did say you want something different.

Sorry, I was thinking that you two had hung out and studied together.

It is pretty forward to make someone dinner at your place unless they've been over before.

Making a meal at my place on the first date works for me. But I'm probably going for an entirely different type of women. <3 starving college females!

Live music is also always great.. first dates should be fun, not intimate.

Awesome ideas here. Keeps it fun and not all serious.

One of the best first dates I ever had was lazertag.

If you live near NY take her to Cafe Wha!

Araby will agree with me.

If you had an arcade/restaurant in your area, like Dave & Busters, that would be fun. They serve meals right there, then you head over to the arcade area where you can win tickets & buy her silly prizes.

Alternately, it might be kind of fun to go to a park and do nostalgic type stuff that not everyone does very much anymore - fly kites (extra points if they are the cheap plastic superhero variety), play Frisbee, have a picnic. However, that sort of stuff might be saved for later in the dating process when there are less awkward silences.

Yes I will, I had a great time there.

I've been thinking about the kind of date I'd like to be taken on since I first posted and now I really want to eat outside, drink and then see music. I might just stomp my foot if I don't get it.

I actually agree with him on this.

Dinner at your place on a first date is a bad idea. She'll be spending more time wondering if you're cheap (not willing to take her out and splurge a little) or if you're just trying to get in her pants. Dinner at your place is down the road, after you've been dating for a while.

I agree with both of these. It would be alittle too intimate for a first date. That is unless she has been to your house before.

Yeah because arcades are the way to make women want to fuck you.

A lot of your bowling/arcade type places do have bars...they aren't all a kiddie type setting. Or hey, maybe she doesn't just want to get drunk and fuck? Get too serious/in your face romantic etc. too soon and he may not get any at all, might just scare her away.

Hey I was wondering if you're busy tonight. If not maybe we could go to Aladdin's Castle and try to beat my high score on DDR.
