Gyp I call bullshit. 1300.00 and could not find a thing? Good lord if I spend 1300.00 they had best find an imprint of Mother Mary on her liver. Frankly unless you know these docs personally I would say they blew smoke up your ass. I have seen this too damn many times.

"Oh even though we did the procedure the cat still died and we dont know why."

Could just as easily be...

"Oh we dont really have a procedure like that on hand so we faked it. The cat will either get better or she wont. Cause 1300 is 1300."

I dont trust docs further than I can throw them, and vets even more so. the days of an honest doc are long gone.

well I'm still waiting to hear back on the actual amount of how much I owe them - depending how much it is, I'm going to go in and calmly speak to them and be like listen.. I understand it costs money to run an IV and keep him in the oxygen tank and I'm more than happy to pay for those services that were provided; however, I see 0 results from any tests that you've provided, my cat who I was obviously willing to go into debt for to save is still gone, you've provided me with no closure or any clue as to what happened, and you're still billing me 1300. I could've had him die the same way at home for free.

I haven't signed off on any bill or estimate which they require a signature for.. the only thing we've signed off on was a 200 dollar thing to get his x rays straight away to see if it was something in his heart like fluid that was 100% inoperable and he would die anyway. When we saw no fluid on his heart, we got a quote for the rest of the stuff and she showed me the estimate but I never signed it.

Had he lived, it would've been a lot easier to deal with that huge chunk of money.. but now we've lost him, have no idea why, and we still have this enormous debt on our hands. With any luck, they'll realize that.. if not, we might have to take further action but I honestly can't justify to myself that much money when it did nothing for him and we have no clue why he died.

I mean like I said, paying for the oxygen and x ray and IV that we know that they provided is one thing.. but we saw no test results other than that.

I'm so sorry to hear about all this bad news going on at once Gyps. Would you be offended if anyone here decided to pull together some funds to at least help you guys out? Just a thought. Seems like we all pretty much make ok money for the most part so if we all put in like $5-10 we could totally help take some of the burden off you?

I appreciate the thought, but that's just not my way. Most people who knew me in EQ know that it's not easy to get me to take e-help, so real help is out of the question usually =p It's very nice of you to think of me though - thank you so much.

My hope is that the vet will understand that 1300 is so much to charge for no diagnosis, only 24 hours in their care, no test results etc. I've never in my life paid that much for a vet, including emergency, and have *always* had pets, and unless we've put them down they've always lived too. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with this type of situation.

before I go totally off subject here....I'd like to say that I am sorry you lost your kitty, and also about all the other bad things that have happened to you lately. Big E hugs to you sister.

Now, Darcler. I hope and not because I hate you or Gidan at all, but I hope his parents don't leave you an "inheritance" at all. You should have to work for your money, just like they did. You shouldn't expect anything from them. I can't believe you expect a woman to scrimp and save their pennies so your husband, and by default you will have more when they die.

They dont scrimp. I do not like these people. Let me find a little comfort in the time when they're gone. Morbid? Yep. But it gives me the warm fuzzies just the same.
I also want to add, as of about 3 months ago, I havent been in my right mind. So in different circumstances, I wouldnt think like this, but every person's mind has a breaking point. I passed mine a while back.
I blame Gid because I dont want to blame myself for being weak.

a good precentage of the fights we have stem from them. whether it be my families dysfuntionalism(sp). or hers acting non human again. So yeah, I can see her point. whether I agree with it or not is a different story.

I dont care if anyone agrees or disagrees. Do I wish them dead? Sometimes. Havent you ever stormed off from an arguement with your parents and thought "Gosh, I wish they were dead!" or something of the like? Thats about as far as I go with it. I dont sit and dream up elaborate schemes to kill them off.
I dont like my inlaws. One of the only good things to come from them will be their $$ (which will most likely come in the form of funds for the kids school, which was probably what they were going to turn into).
I'm a broken person. I'm far passed the point of caring what people from the interwebs think about me and my thoughts of my inlaws.

oh darc :( /hug

i don't think any less of you for this . . . you're in a tough situation, and having difficult people around with whom you don't get along can only make it worse. just try to keep in mind that they're family, regardless of what kind of people they are, and that you can love them without liking them.

People ask me why it's so important for me to fulfill my dream of being self made and honestly it's so that I never have to think the same way as I just quoted. Money makes people think some pretty despicable shit.

Darc isn't by any stretch of imagination a bad person, but having to count on someone's death to enhance your own life means that you're in a pretty shitty situation.

If they were poor and had nothing, I would still think the exact same thing, only they would leave us nothing when they die. Money changes nothing in this. I dispise them the same amount "rich" or poor. Matter of fact...I kinda wish they were poor. Then they would stop filling our already FULL house with shit they/we dont need. 3 bookcases in the front room? Show me where youre keeping books to fill all three of these cases and I will not mind.
I keep to my 10% of the house about 90% of my day just so I avoid them. I cant sign on an apartment lease because of the chance of us moving out of state soon. The apartments that I can afford dont have military clauses which would get us out of our lease. I'm here until Matt goes to a new base or comes home. Either way, should be a couple more weeks.

Speaking of which, tell your wife I *promise* to go to the post office tomorrow haha.
Or really....

Hey Mar, I'm going to the post office tomorrow! This time for sure!

I should charge my camera up and show you these things and all the space they have for things that will never go in them.
Not only are they big, they just dont belong where they are. They are blocking the flow on where the hall is. I dont like it.

Narrock I dont think she is. its hard living in the same house with a second family. We did while we were looking for a house about 3 years ago. I thought everyday about strangling one or both in their sleep. I kept having to remind myself that Mar was not going to help me dig the holes
