A vibe is made by Toyota, essentially. It's the same car as the Matrix.

You can get a 2-3 year old one cheaper than a Matrix, even though it's the same car, and has the Toyota reliability.

Yep, and the 1zzfe and 2zzge engines are made by Yamaha.

And they both have the Corolla engine, if you're going to pay that much, just get a Corolla.

yeah, in 2003. it's getting older now though and requiring more and more maintenance to keep it going. i'd rather get a nice, dependable honda.

i recently said in some other thread that i was thinking about getting one, but i never actually did it.

Ok, so I went to the dealerships to look at all the cars and they sucked. Only the civic was decent.

Solstice - Looked like crap. Chick car

Sky - Looked awesome, felt awesome...... 6 month waiting list

Miata - Still semi ok on this car, but nothing special.

Civic - Coolest interior by far. GPS system owns. Really high mpg.

Atm I'm kinda at a loss. And for those of you who're talking about over spending because of new job ect. I've been saving for a long time now to buy a house. I could buy any one of these cars outright.

Civic has the top vote for me so far.... but why do hybrids have to look so gahh.

heee, this made me think of the time a couple years back when alex was test driving cars when his cougar was crapping out . . . he drove up to my house and called me to tell me to come out for a ride in the car he was test driving and i got outside and it was a tiny little two-seater red miata convertible hehe . . . we drove around for a while, and he's like "so what do you think??" and i said "well it's great! there's just enough room for you and another small gay man" lol he punched me really hard in the arm for that, and then ended up buying a ford explorer, which, if you ask me, is the only car of his that has made sense, ever--all his other cars have been small and/or impractical! especially for such a tall guy!

Suzuki's are great cars too! I have a 05 Suzuki Aerio SX. It has decent gas milage and brand now it was only 14,300 and had LOTS of extras. I compared it to a Toyota Matirx and a Ford Focus Hatchback in prce, and we were talking anywhere from $5k to $10k difference! And those other cars did not have nearly as many features. My mom has a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara and the ONLY thing she has had to do maintenance wize is replace the battery, and that was just last year. I have yet to have to replace anything in my car that wasn't because of user error. They have a great warranty as well. I would at least check them out.

You have $25K in savings and have been working for $15 an hr for the last 2 years? I call bullshit unless your parents have been paying all your bills.

Just get your fucking AC fixed in the Alero. I'm sure it runs fine other than that.

If you have your mind set on a Civic, though, just get a standard model. The price premium for the hybrid is way too high, even with the modest credit on your taxes. You'd have to drive 5-7 years or more before even breaking even on gas mileage versus a standard Civic.

But as Toss says, "Don't spend that shit on a car."

I'm out. You don't understand the value of a dollar, so feel free to dump a bunch of cash on a car that depreciates faster than fuck, while you in actuality don't make that much coin.
