I've always tried to give blood and have never met the criteria. (piercings and low body weight)

I finally gained weight and now meet the weight requirement by three pounds (yay 113). I am going to try and give blood asap.

However, I may still be turned away. Animia (spelling... sorry) runs in my family, and I have a heart murmer, because of those they may turn me away for safety precautions to myself, not because there is anything wrong with my blood.

I had 46% iron which was good or something. I attribute it to the shitty watersupply in my house =\

I have a rare blood disease (rare in USA, actually fairly common in the Mediteranian areas like Greece, Sicily and Italy, it is a hereditary thing that I got from my Sicilian father) called Thalacemia Minor which basically boils down to my blood doesn't carry enough oxygen. I used to give blood before I knew I had it, but one time they called me back afterwards and chewed me out because my blood could theoretically kill someone who needed oxygen carrying capacity immediately. I guess that means if someone were extremely low on blood and they gave them mine then it wouldnt do them as much good as regular blood, thus would put the patient at risk.

So now I don't give blood anymore ... My blood is faulty

I can't give blood. I lived in germany for a year when i was 1. If you live in western europe for more then 6 months after 1980, you can't give blood in canada. There a *chance* i might have madcow disease. And since they don't have a test for it, i can't give blood.

sure i was eating so much beef when i was 1.

They wouldn't let me before due to my Anthrax vaccination. I should check again.
