Basically, I talked to my roommate and let her know what my plan was, to visit the DC area and she is actually heading up to her hometown that same weekend, only she was going to take a one-way flight and bring the train back home on the fourth. So...she offered to split the cost of gas for the drive up, several suggestions and the cabin in Pine Creek. I do not have to do any of these things...I really want to do neat stuff with Tyler.

Wherever you guys think would be a great place for an NT get-together, we can do that. I don't like schedules, I don't like plans, but I know I have to map something out for us. I have some time to map it out and think of great things to do on the way/while we're there and on the way back.

I don't really care about the Civil War. I live in the southernist of states in the most historical area..I get my fill of it right here in Charles Towne.

I almost ended up in Albany today. The chick behind me woke me up and I switched buses.

I just drove home from the Finger Lakes today...

I've been there since Monday... I am sunburnt & sore & I can't wait to go again.

Thankfully it isn't a long drive for me. About 400 miles.

12 hours ago, I was driving my friend's motorboat around the lake surveying the damage from the storms yesterday (sustained 40+ mph winds with 75+ mph gusts, not to mention lots of hail, lightning, & rain).

Within a mile each way along the shore from my dock there were at least 25 trees with 3'+ diameters knocked down. It was a crazy storm...

If you get a chance to while in the DC area, make sure to see the bodies exhibit in VA. It's pretty fantastic. Also if your son is into Spies, the International Spy Museum is also a good kid friendly stop. Luray Caverns isn't in DC but it's in the area and it's another good stop. If he's into baseball you could stop in at either a Nationals game or an Orioles game. Also there is the Aquarium in Baltimore (the one in DC bites). Of course there are all the museums which are good to take a look into if you've never been there before. You can find that list anywhere.

Yeah my GF and I saw Bodies: The Exhibit in NYC. It was pretty intense. The dead babies room is like a hall of horrors.

Araby contact your congressional representatives, tell them you are planning a trip to Washington, chances are you can meet with one or more of them (if you are interested in doing so) and depending on schedule they might be able to hook you up with tours of some areas you wouldn't be able to see otherwise.

though, if I know me, I will leave in the middle of the night and head somewhere. all of these ideas/suggestions have been awesome. if I make the trip, I'll let you guys know who are nearby. a lot can happen in three weeks.
