The Enhanced Political Quiz...in 2D

Postby Martrae » Wed Mar 15, 2006 10:49 am

Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

Hey! We need you in Congress! Or at least in your state legislature. At least I think so.

Join the Libertarian Party and we'll put you on the ballot. What? Not ready to run yourself? Well, join the party anyway and put someone of like mind into office. It is high time we kicked the envy-mongers, busy-bodies and angst-worshippers out of office.

Be forewarned that the Libertarian Party currently far more radical than you. It is likely that you disagree strongly with many of their positions. However, there is a move afoot to fix this.

More accurate than the other one. The other one was way off the scale in regards to the questions and their bias.

I was 3 places up from the center, and about half a square to the right.

Economic Conservative

You recognize the inefficiency of having the government run the economy. Great!

You also seem to think that the government can do a good improving people's personal habits in some areas. This puts you halfway between the Libertarian and Republican positions.

Your views call roughly the same amount of government with just a bit more liberty than we currently have in the United States today. Thus, your views are probably best served by a nearly equal mix of Democrats and Republicans in the legislatures, with just a few Libertarians thrown into the mix to nudge things in the direction of smaller government.

Note that I said just a few Libertarians. The Libertarian Party calls for far less government than you want. Think of a tub of cold bathwater. To get it warm enough to be comfortable, you add hot water, not ideal temperature water. Adding a few hot-blooded lovers of liberty to balance out the authoritarians in the legislatures is one way of getting what you want.

You want government out of people's personal lives, but you appear to desire some continued government control over people's economic activities. There is no political party that represents your views. You need a mix of Democratic, Libertarian and possibly Green politicians in office. (The Green Party probably runs the most candidates with your views, but the overall Green Party platform is much more socialistic than you are.)

You also seem to think that the government can do a good improving people's personal habits -- a bit of moral socialism.
