Mines an 02'. It's payed off. I've spent 2k in repairs in the last 4 months. Now the AC compressor is *missing". Quoted at 1.5k to repair. Driving in Florida summer heat with no AC blows.

I need a new car.

Buy a slightly used Camry or Accord.

I didn't pick it. My parents did while I was in High School. When I moved I payed off the rest of the loan.

Buy a new Kia Rio LX at the end of the month. Offer 11,750 out the door, and tell them you want to pocket the 500 cash back. Better, negotiate via the Internetz and get it done ahead of time.

Your car payment should be around 200 bucks for a car that'll last 5+ years with no repairs and no issues, with roadside assistance and a killer warranty.

it's pretty hard to go wrong with a Civic, or a camry. I had a civic for 4 years before I got my Jeep, and it was a great little car

After searching the internet this morning I've come up with a few cars. I'll be honest and say I don't really really like any of them. Maybe it's my desire for a Lotus Exige but, I have to find something for now =p

Opinions!

You get a new job and now decide to make these purchases. I suggest you get a beater for now because you obviously don't know how to handle your money. I gaurantee a year from now you'll have no money saved.

You also chose 3 chick cars.

Ugh... all of those cars are a waste of money. Buy something cheap and fuel efficient until you start making some good money and then buy a sports car. Hybrids are not cost effective yet.

sky and solstice are virtually identical cars. they're both a lot of fun, and aren't fantastic repair wise

out of those, i'd pick the civic

safest purchase out of all of them

Get an 89 honda prelude and buy a Type-R sticker off ebay and you're set!

Buy a slightly used car (with warranty) for as close to 10K as you can get. You'll be thankful later on when your car payments are not $400+ a month.

Why are you looking at a house and a car already? At the very least pass probation at your job or something, what's your contingency plan if you get fired after you've already gotten the loan from the bank to buy a loft in the city and a stupid frivolous ugly bmw look alike.

Thus my Kia suggestion. It's a good car at a very cheap price. The Kia's and Hyundai's are the best deals on the market, and the quality is comparable to Toyota and Honda, now.

Be smart and keep your car payment as low as you can. If you spend extra you don't need to, you're a fool.

If you want to go used, I'd suggest an '04/05 Pontiac Vibe for around $10k with low miles. It's actually a clone of the Toyota Matrix, and will last.

my sportage is a 2001. I just had to pay $650 to get it fixed. I mentioned it to Darcler a few months ago.."oh get a kia sportage I love mine"

doesn't mean anything...I just kinda felt bad after I raved about what a great car it was and then had to take it in.
