so in the other thread i mentioned that Black Cohosh scored a sweet slot in the annual Lincoln Calling festival
but the BEST slot of the entire festival is tomorrow night during "band appreciation night" - one or two acts considered the cream of the local crop are showcased at the "home" music club, fully catered, during which there are no other shows scheduled. everyone sorta gets together for one last jam and has a collective feelgood about the 2012 festival
who's headlining?
LIFE IS COOL (clicky for samples*). it's our debut show, unless you count jamming half the set live on the radio last night ^_^
this is about as "supergroup" as lincoln can get, because the 9 or so people in this band (yes 9!) have all been in numerous other critically-acclaimed groups. it is by the sheer strength of LIC's collective resume that we landed this gig.
i am beyond excited to be in this band; i feel like charlie bucket finding a golden ticket! next week we're playing a grand opening of a new studio, then four shows (so far) slated for november, and already two in december (including a NYE show at the Bourbon, which is O Street's biggest venue). the album will drop early 2013, then we will try recording an EP and possibly do a small midwest tour to support it. shit's crazy!
*that's not me playing drums on the samples linked. the album was written and recorded long before a band was hand-picked to play it live. literally the only downside.
