Ethyl Meatplow is kinda odd.
For out there live performances, I'd have to say Crash Worship. Don't get me wrong, they were GREAT. Crash worship was an outfit that was pretty much all percussion instruments, but their concerts were as much performance art as they were concert. People in the road crew would carry big flaming things into the crowd, or do stuff like weber kettle lids with lit rags and put them in various spots, occasionally tossing magnesium powder to make big fireballs. Everyone in the crowd would be spraying everyone else in the crowd with water, wine, honey, oil, water-based fire extinguishers, etc. Also, most every guy would take their shirts off, as would at least half the women, and at least at one show, one of the female road crew was carried around naked on a giant board by other road crew, while she tossed chunks of watermelon into the crowd. All this while the band is playing, usually some really amazing stuff.
Ultimately, you ended up with a bunch of sweaty, wet, oily, half-naked people dancing around fires to the beating of drums. Was most cool. They broke up a while back tho.
About all I know of what any of them are doing these days, is one of the members is doing some shows with a mobile pipe organ. (don't ask.)
