Soooo how many

Postby Diekan » Sun Dec 05, 2004 4:57 am

Of you have completed the betrayal quests? I've been kicking around the idea of doing it - but honestly - cant think of a good reason, other than being called an *Assassin* instead of a *Ranger.*

Made a High Elf yesterday I plan to betray and make a necromancer (probably). Girlfriend did it in beta, didnt look too bad, just tedious. 500 orcs and a few named.

I grouped with a 22 Ogre Paladin yesterday... I didnt get a feeling of awe.

If you want a paladin just use a race that can be one.

That defeats the entire purpose though... from a roleplaying perspective (I know, I know... laugh all you want...) being able to play as any class from any race is I'm sure a godsend. Just because you're born a big, ugly Gnome-eating monster doesn't have to mean you can't carry a big sword in the name of Tunare does it?

Pretended she was a transvestite hooker eh?

It may be inefficient, but I think it's damn cool that you can be any class/race combo you want.

I thought about it for like a second but then decided I would rather get my levels. Especially after seeing a couple friends die horribly several times just trying to get from zone to zone haha. I giggled though, so that made me happy. It's way past too late for me now hehe.

Imo quest is PITA I seen goodies who tried to run trough Nek w/o invisiblity ... well be ready for at least 30-40% debt to work out upon arrivale to FP
If you want evil class - make char in FP its much easy to do it. Vision not a problem at all just buy torch it last forever...
I tell you more exp ground for evil suck big time compare to goodies. You wont see any 20s evils grinding in Nek - everyone in TS, you dont have even halth decent none raiding dangeon in Nek for 25-30 so everyone sitting in Varsoon. I am playing coercer (because of charm heh) the only reason I "could" group in Nek is doing EL access quest and may be finishing Hallmark quest (I did my fair share of exp debt here while I did my armor quest thou)

Tanatus you're retarded hehe. We grind in Nek all the time (evil), we have too because all our armor quests are there. :p I will give you one thing, you really don't see alot of folks in nek yet. Some decent stuff drops there and the xp is good. Personally I think Edgewater Drains has much better xp and the loot is awesome so far as adept drops go.

People are't doing the betrayl quest because they really don't have much choice because of the way they limited the classes and race combinations.

I wanted to play a Dark Elf Monk, but decided against it because -- I'm lazy and didn't want to waste that much time doing a pita quest. I group regularily with a halfling bruiser (who betrayed). He wanted to be an evil halfing. It's pretty cool. People aren't doing it for the fun of the quest you tard, they are doing the quest because it's the race/class combo they want.

I've made 4 or so deliveries to commonlands selling App III stuff. Nek is a scary but fun run once you learn the trick.

Question Why not just put them up on the black market? might be less of a hassle for you.

App III's have a maximum price the market will bear. People won't pay the price I need to break even most times, and they won't pay it with a 40% black market markup especially.

as I said you have to do Nek for armor its unavoidable but you cannt say anything about exp flow and loot untill you actually compare both TS and Nek. I played both... Nek = debt collection TS = exp+loot. It have nothing to do with skills of group (I am playing lvl 28 coercer btw). TS is just like holyday cake compare Nek.
Look what mobs you can exping in Nek in your 20s? - Wisps? nah no way fightign AE casting group of mobs .., Owl bears? - well bear in mind 1 add mean you have +5 mob joined fight. Beach camps? well they ok but nowhere near as good as you can get in TS. Mmmm okey let say you went after rambleroots (nice lvl 30 mobs) again you have to deal with casting mob - more trouble then gain.
Now look on TS - centraurs (only few casters and none of em AE nukers) - will easy take you from 19 to 22-23. Once you hit 22-23 its Gaints time - they much like were treants in EQ1 back in 1999 :) easy to kill track load loot and exp but alike treats in EQ you can get many camps here. Oki once you hit lvl 25 its RoV time - I honestly dont know wher lvl 25 can grind from evil side - from the good side ruins of Varsoons its a place wher you want to be if you want 33% thl per hour (with good group)
EWD death trap - exp good but its ofsets with massive exp debt...

I can't say anything about TS yet as I haven't had the need to head there yet. I haven't killed everything in nek yet but have been in quite a few "good" groups. We've gotten some decent loot (especially adept drops, I got two for bruiser just the other night). Let's not forget about armor drops as well. I think the key to nek right now is fast killing. Killing the casters is awesome because they hardly any hitpoints, so with a welll rounded group you can plow through them pretty easily and just keep chain pulling them all night long. To be frank though, I'm not impressed with the exp gain in nek at all. I'll be moving onto TS once I complete my BP quest.

Fighting at the beach is decent depending on what you're killing. The craps are terrible experience. Pirates aren't bad and if you kill enough of the captains you can get some decent stuff. The key is not let anyone in the group die during your fights. The best thing about the beach is that it's damn near impossible to die there because there aren't any wandering aggro mobs for the most part and it doesn't seem like there are very many people around there hunting so it's open season on all the pirate/vandal camps.

I can't wait to check out TS hehe. :)
