how do YOU make your $$?

Postby Jei » Tue Dec 07, 2004 2:10 pm

how do you make your money in EQ2 :

tradeskills?

mobs?

since i don't tradeskill yet, i have to kill mobs for my cash. i'm a level 24 assassin and find soloing the shore crabs in TS yields a small fortune if you put enough time into it.

anyway, how do you make your money?

Im just adventuring, but my significant other is tradeskilling. She's made probably 30 gold so far total as a 20th level jeweller, 14th level shaman. Thats FAR more than ive made lol. Seems both paths are viable, looting mobs and tradeskilling.

Selling stuff I've harvested has netted me quite a bit.

Yeah Im with you. It takes some conditioning. I still find it boring, but I harvest whenever I see something. The thing is, if you arent harvesting things, if you decide to become a tradeskiller later, your skill will be crap, and youll be spending hours in newbie zones harvesting stuff, or buying it from people.

2 easy ways to make money.

1- Tradeskills- I will hit lvl 42 provisioner tonight. I have bought a horse 2.5 plat, I own every pet, I have 5 master spells, I bought 2 baby dragons this morning for a laugh. I can make 3+ gold per stack of fish I make and at lvl 42 I will be able to make 12 or 13 gold per stack. I have probably spent about 4 plat on useless crap and a horse in the last 10 levels.

2- Be an adventurer with harvesting skills. Get a decent level and harvest the hell out of tier 3 and 4. Regular drops you can sell for couple silver, rares you can sell for 3-10 gold depending on what class uses it. Until I out-tiered the people who harvest for money I was paying 20 silver a stack of fish and 30 silver a stack of ground harvestables for tier 3, and 1 gold per stack of tier 4 fish and 1.5 gold per stack of tier 4 ground harvestables.

Yeah, I think Sony dropped the ball on this on. Yes, EQ II owns as far as I am concerned, but this tradeskill shit is a bit over board. People want to explore, kill mobs and play the game - not sit in some dank room for hours on end making tea...

I dont have much use for cash. I pay for the mender every 3rd day, and I'm ok without Adepts for now.

I'm hoping Adepts become easier to acquire as the game matures. Right now everything is rare.

I hope they do NOT become easier to acquire :(

Go out and support your local crafters Lyion. Buy an apprentice III! Adepts are dropping like rain and being sold under what it costs to produce the same level at apprentice III. It's making it very hard for Sages to make any kind of money at all.
