How big an instance is this?

Is it comparable to Ragefire or SFK? Is it large like WC?

Thanks.

It's more like a WC feel as it's cavernous except with a lot of water and it has that Night Elf feel to it. It's pretty big but I don't think it's as huge as WC is. I'd say 2 hours if it's your first time there. Once you start getting to the human mobs you are almost done. If you're level 25 or below watch out for the invisible rogue mobs there. There's some pretty good loot there to be had for that level. The last part is buggy where you spawn the event to open the door...make sure you ask in guild chat for help before you blow it.

I went in there the other day (26 hunter) with a 27 druid and a 30'ish warrior. We didn't have time to do the entire thing, but we went as far as getting the elemental stone thingy (which is what we had come for). Had a blast. I'd never been before, and we missed the quest guy in the underwater alcove off ot the turtle grotto area, so we didn't end up killing Lord What'shisname.

Did Razorfen Kraul (twice) two days later, and I'm still trying to convince people to go back with me... I want that swinetusk shank that I was too low to roll on at 29 (damn you NBG loot settings! I was less than 2k xp from being eligible><)...it makes my peepee hurt...and it has more dps than the beshitted Crescent Staff I've been stuck with since WC...

If you roll against a rogue for the shank you are a pathetic worthless man, that is all:) It's my duty to let other people realize how hard it is to get a decent dagger for a rogue.

We have 2 rogues in our entire guild of 30-someodd people, and neither of them was there. Also, I don't think either of those rogues has broken 20 yet (this happened like a week ago, and neither of them have broken 20 as of today). They are either extremely casual players (they are hardly ever on), or they are alts that someone lost interest in...

Had I been 30 at the time (which I ended up making right after we finished the second Kraul crawl), I would have been rolling against two other hunters (our party was 2 priests, 3 hunters) who already had superior dual wielding set-ups to my pathetic Crescent Staff that I have had for 7 levels (ie. over a week).

That 23.whatever dps dagger is the highest dps weapon, 1-hand or otherwise, I have yet to see drop anywhere and we wants it, yes we do..

Word of caution:

don't click all 4 candles at the same time... it makes for an interesting battle.... which we won, btw.

Taxx thinks that rogues are the only classes that choose to use daggers.

No I don't, but I also don't think other classes realize that a bunch of our abilities require us to use daggers. Kizzy look at our lower levels rogues and look at the craptastic daggers they're using. That's why I'm farming Gnomeragon with everytime a new rogue hits level 30 so they can get a decent dagger. That is like me saying to you "Only use half your spells and the ones you are using, make sure you use the level 2 spells instead of the level 3".

I know many rogues that don't use ANY daggers.

Sorry - but when I think dagger, I think cloth class - not rogue.

It's also a long-standing debate to which is better. A lot of rogues don't want to use swords. With 25% miss rate, I'll take a dagger anyday over a slower sword so that I get more poison procs.

I'll just be happy when I can finally ditch my 2-hander in favor of a superior dual wield set-up, I don't care it they're axes, swords, daggers, or even fist weapons, I've got them all trained (no point being left out of NBG rolls simply because you didn't bother to train in a weapon type...)

P.S.- Why the hell can't hunters learn maces? Rogues and Warriors can... I've passed on more 1-handed maces that would have served as fine upgrades than I care to think about. I mean, I'll live without them, but it just seems like an arbitrary design decision, and that bugs me.

I did Blackfathom Deeps a few days ago. We didn't know much about the event, a level 33 hunter (me), 36 priest and a 33 priest. We killed all of the non elites at the door (and all the mobs up to them, ofcourse) but then the second wave of elites, a crapload of turtles got us. Need a full group, too many mobs. We didn't know much about the event, either. Quests not completed :(.

That still doesn't mean that you as a rogue should have first loot rights on every dagger that drops.

I didn't say I did. But if a person knows the game, and they're doing NBG he is not going to roll against a rogue for a dagger, that is my point. Just as I'm not going to roll against a shaman for an awesome item that might have some +int on it.

so I shouldn't roll on a dagger because of NBG even though I use a dagger on my warlock? Thats messed up.

Just the same as I wouldn't roll on a necklace that had +10 agility and did +40 to shadow damage spells...yes. So i shouldn't roll on a necklace because I wear necklaces?

learn the game

If a dagger drops that I can use I will roll on it, I don't care if you are in the group or not. I will never roll on an item I can not use and would just sell for profit for a horse at level 40.

Neither would I, if it was an upgrade for someone.
I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying.

In other words what I'm trying to say is this: If something is an upgrade to me I will want it. If it's a BIGGER upgrade to someone else I'M NOT GOING TO ROLL ON IT. I think that the person who would benefit the most from the item is the one who should get it...not a person who just "wants" it.

And thats fine if that is the way YOU want to play your game, never getting an upgrade because you want the BIG upgrade.

If its an upgrade for me, and I will use it, then I will roll on it. Doesn't make me any less of a player.

So when we do Onyxia do you expect me to award the highest damaging 1 hand sword to a Warlock simply because they can use it and they want it? I would hope that Warlock would defer to a warrior so we could progress as a guild.

as a hunter, I'd defintely pass on a dagger if ayle, our rog, needed it. matter of fact i'd probably pass on the majority of 1h weps if an appropriate classed needed them first.

wtf has been up with all the cloth drops? it seems like majority of our guild gets cloth drops and shields 90% of the time.

That's not the point, some of our Warlocks do use swords. And no you don't ROLL on gear in a guild raid.
