He's up there too, Lyion. In the grind thread he's talking about being 37 and that was before Christmas.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

47 now and my 2 main groups consist of 45-50 P

Bruisers and Brigands are both the highest level dps....around 170ish at lvl 47....

Yes Pallys and Necros are useless. We group with our 46 Necro Thyme...i tell you its a good thing hes a nice guy....
He even admits he sucks. He has powerfull dots...guess what, mobs drop in 15 seconds. He does 30dps average.with his pet adding around 45ish

and a troubadour is better then a dirge. i have one of each, id know~

Wow you have two 45+ thats impressive....since you need 45+ to get a real feel for the end game for the next few months.

well, im 48.

Pallys makes good tank cuz of Wards.. and I like necros for dmg.. they do em decently, been grping with one for like a week... and tell me how a dirge is better then troub? my troub is 48... their spells are better then dirge, cept after this patch dirge got a semi selo song and rez... their debuffs r the same, troub's buff r better.

Plus i been tanking better then dirges and guardians, way better.

Necro

Postby Mhila » Fri Jan 07, 2005 1:17 am

I can't speak for 40+ because my necro is still 2 bubs away from 31... lol

But I do real time parsing on my second box while playing and at lvl 30 My necro averages 36.xxDPS, my grim averages 21.xxDPS and every two minutes I can summon a level 30 and 2 level 29 undead dogs which average 17dps and 14dps respectively. So if you add that all up you get the possibility of a necro doing up to 102DPS at level 30. I should also mention that all of my parsing has been in Runnyeye where I'm fighting mobs approximately level 32 to 37.

To put that all in perspective,my last group before I logged off tonight had a guardian putting out a wopping 17dps, an Enchanter doing 21dps, an Inquizitor holding a wopping 12dps and a defiler doing a whole 13.2dps on average. my average in that group was 71dps because I wasn't using my pack of rotting hounds all that often. This has been typical for every group I've been in for as long as I've been parsing my EQ2 log files.

While I fully expect that the other classes will eventually catch up and do decent dps once they get better gear I find it rather doubtful that they will surpass us Necro's by so far that we become "Useless" above level 40.

New necro pet kicks ass. He can solo even cons at 23 and still be at around 40% health. That's just app II. His DPS seems low but he has quite a few HP and take a punch.

your a troub and tanking? why?

Troubs are a great class, don't get me wrong....

Just Bruisers and Dirges are the best in the game. I can't be biased since im a Fury.
You want real, you need a Bruiser and Dirge.

Why would you want a pally that tanks "fine", when you can have a Guard tank? It just doesn't make sense.

I'd love to see a Pally tank Solusk eye....crawling exp...

I dunno, but we play for max exp...never pick up groups and the proper classes so that 13 hours a level turns to 9 or 10.

Driges are the best class in the game, plain and simple. They add around 25% haste or power song. Nobody in group EVER runs out of power. Plus there doing dps like a mage or necro + pet at the same time.

I couldn't have done half the things we have done without the dirge we group with.

They gave mages a uber group proc yesterday...add 180 aoe proc to everyones weapons and goes off at least 4 times a fight.

Hope they give something to my necro buddy.

ps. i have a shard at Naggy feet. 3 days till im full lol, what a mess.

Everything you typed here reeks of FFXI mentallity. That is why FFXI had such a fagtastic end-game. EQ2 is not about 'max xp per second'. Sure any game you can find the best and fastest way to grind xp, but when you can still get the job done with any combination of classes, why the fuck am I going to sit around for 4 hours waiting for that one special class to m ake my group the 'leet xp fag crew' when I can just grab soandso and jam on xp and quests.

heh I wouldn't say bruisers do the most damage in the game, we do pretty good though. I'm only 34 so I still have a ways to go, but with this being one of the less popular classes alot of people don't understand what we are, they just think we're monks. Which we're not.

It's a fun class to play, we can do some pretty cool stuff that can really help out a group but nothing overly amazing.

Play dead (feign death), other classes get it too bleh.
Intimidate (Mezzes a mob for a short while, boy I hate fuckers who break it).
Jeer (Fear, fears one mob and makes all the rest hate the bruiser)
Intervene (Will take some of the damage of targetted player, I become a hp spong).
We get a couple of other spells for upping defense and agi of the main tank (if it's not us).

Check out the bruiser forum Coates, lots to read there. There really aren't all that many bruisers.

For instance, I don't play much but I'm currently ranked 4th on Highkeep.

One other tip, I would say skip all the class specific armor, you know how fast it goes to crap and with the way you speed through levels, you wouldn't have it for as long as it would take you to get it. ;)

One other comment on Pallys. They don't tank, they don't tank well or even good. They just got it right in the ass from Sony this time around. The only thing Pallys have going for them when they get into a group is that they can add some heals and wards to groups. They get tore up by mobs that can't even hit me in game.

Troubs are one of my favorite classes, my next char will probably be one. We had two in group one night and it was a dps never run out of power fest haha. I love it. :D

I agree with this.

I have only done my AQ gauntlets, and that was when I turned 20, it was a simple quest. I haven't done anything past that.

I try to stay away from Attunable crap unless I just happen to complete a quest and get a reward. The only nodrop gear I am wearing atm is a Three Band Ring (easy quest "Rings that Thirst"), Cold Forged Gauntlets (AQ1), Starfall ("Falling Stars" I think was the name of the quest in TS).

Everything else is either player made or dropped and for the most part I can either stand toe-to-toe or out-tank anyone else of equal level (sometimes even against higher level players).

I completed all my armor by level 24, but it was a total pain in the ass because I leveled on accident from 20 to 24 because I was strictly staying in the quest related zones the whole time looking only for Quest groups. I would be well over 40 by now had I not bothered. :/

Uh, why. 2 troubs togheter sucks, a troub and a dirge = ok, 2 troub = suck.

There's not even enough songs to keep up... one would be on buffs, other majorly on debuffs and aid spells like granted attacks bla bla. Not worth it.

My favorite group so far has been:

Me Tank
Enc/Bard
Conj
Necro
Inquisitor
Fury

Also pretty much any group consisting of Me (Shadowknight), 4 scouts/4 nukers (of any combo, kind), any healer type.

One of the best groups I've been in so far has been:

Me (Bruiser)
Templar
Druid
Brigand
Swashy
Chanter

It was total domination, we ran around in zek finishing up the DFC access quest having a blast. =)
