It wasn't this case early on. There were a few guilds that had a bunch of insider info, and other guilds trying to compete.
Most hardcore people are without loyalty and will take the path of least resistance. If Guild X is achieving due to insider information, then people want to head there, despite the fact another guild has levelled, equipped, and worked to get them where they are.
We saw it all the time, Taxx. Certain people get nicely equipped and then jump ship to the guild that has the insider information to be able to achieve with the path of least resistance.
The other guild that is doing things with zero insider info also needs to continuously level and equip new people, who they also have to try and keep. It's somewhat of a vicious cycle. You fall behind, and the gap widens. You have less hardcore people.
The funny thing is it was attributed to skill, which was ludicrous.
